AUS - Khandalyce Kiara Pearce (Wynarka) and mum Karlie Pearce-Stevenson (Belanglo) #4

Yeah as we've seen elsewhere, journalists aren't immune to problems with mis-connecting the dots (eg the "convicted paedophile DH" cited earlier)

AUS - Khandalyce Kiara Pearce (Wynarka) and mum Karlie Pearce-Stevenson (Belanglo) #4

No. They got DNA from the bones of both. Then when a crime stoppers report suggested that the child was Khandalyse, they were able to obtain blood samples from both mother and child kept from her birth, and comparison with these enabled ID. Scientists are now trying to see if they can get any...

AUS - Khandalyce Kiara Pearce (Wynarka) and mum Karlie Pearce-Stevenson (Belanglo) #4

As well as that news re Karlie's chest trauma, the Courier Mail has reported that "Both mother and daughter met violent deaths but sustained different types of injuries"...

    Gerard Baden Clay's murder appeal

Well of course she did (no show without Punch), still flying the purple colours of house Bad 'n' Clueless. I can just picture the moment when they arrived at that brilliant strategy: "Well Mummy, if those shabby annoying people without a single Debrett's entry to their name can wear yellow...

Who is GBC? An armchair psych discussion

Yep. That's awesome that your sons are already aware. As I've mentioned previously, I once had a brief personal experience with a psychopath, just before I did the relevant uni lectures on the topic (and went "ok so *that's* what he was") and I'm eternally grateful for that experience, because...

Who is GBC? An armchair psych discussion

One good book I read (i forget which) aptly described personality disorders as "people to avoid". The fact that you can do that shows you're an aware person who hasn't been conditioned to think that PD behaviour is normal. If you *can't* walk away, then it's a problem.

Who is GBC? An armchair psych discussion

Thanks all for your interesting insights here. I'm a bit late getting back to the discussion so I'll toss in a few random points that have occurred to me rather than replying to any one post in particular. Re narcissist vs sociopath/psychopath. Narcissism is a symptom of both Antisocial...

GBC Trial General Discussion Thread #4

Yes - after the ego battering he got from Fuller he had to grab any chance to boost himself up again (in his eyes). Preservation of the false ego is the #1 motivation of the narcissist.

    The Crown v Gerard Baden-Clay, 2nd July - Trial Day 14, Week 3

Like maybe he's really never thought of another story, cos suicide seemed just fine, and anyway he's so charming and everyone loves him and they couldn't possibly convict him. Then after his cross at the hands of Fuller yesterday he's suddenly "oh no - they might actually think I did it!" So...

    The Crown v Gerard Baden-Clay, 2nd July - Trial Day 14, Week 3

Lol - i was just rereading to check the wording of that cop's quote from Day 1 (yes it's there) and saw: SSGT CURTIS: So there's personal and financial issues for you? B-C: Yes So emphatically denied today

    The Crown v Gerard Baden-Clay, 2nd July - Trial Day 14, Week 3

At first I thought it might have been something like "you have to know i'm innocent etc" but maybe, he's come up with an idea of how TM might have done it instead. He's tried to convince his counsel to change stories, but they've told him to pull his head in, so he thinks giving that info to the...
