GUILTY WV - Skylar Neese, 16, Star City, 6 July 2012

I haven't a clue as to whom the personalities are, initials or names. This thread is so large it would be helpful if someone who did could sum up where we are right now. I am at the state capital almost everyday now watching the proceedings. I'll keep y'all informed.

WV WV - Lynn Priestly, 34, Charleston, 21 March 1990

I've given this thread eight days to perk in my head without writing anything, but I have been doing several things that shadowangel suggested such as running down former employees of Tidewater Grill, both reporters who filed the stories, a second and third attempt to talk with the fisherman who...

I certainly agree the bill would not have saved this young woman's life. None the less, prompt pressure being brought to bear on the teen who drove Skylar away could have torn apart the web of lies that grew every day. We must remember that nothing succeeds like success. Each day the...

Briefly, Skylar's Law would force LE to more aggressively investigate "run-aways" as victims of foul play. Star City assumed Skylar was a run-away despite the fact she took nothing (cell phone, money, clothing) with her. I'll find a link with the Bill's language. This was posted an hour ago...

^^^^^^ There is absolutely no doubt this bill will pass and be signed by law. I wish you could have seen the tears in the eyes of many of the members of the House of Delegates and the Senate when her father spoke. Earl Ray will sign this bill into law and there is no doubt about that. It...

    Magnotta March Prelim Hearing & Trial Day 1 - Sep 29, 2014 - Thread #1

I'm guessing that English Common Law and the McNaughten Rule for insanity defense applies in Canada. Am I correct? If so, he obviously cannot say he did not know his crimes were wrong, so what is it his solicitors can argue? This man is such a self promoter that it staggers the imagination he...

I'm so new at this websluething: can anybody think of something else I could do at this point?

I'm not so familiar with this case but I did call an AP writer I know out of Pennsylvania who told me that the case would likely break with two weeks. Rumors that people have talked in Pennsylvania are swirling about and "there is a likelihood that one or more persons have talked with the...

^^^^^^ How right you are! It is an absolute fact that the CPD wants to solve this case; everyone I've encountered who worked the case is a professional officer, and of that I have no doubt. Plodding though historical records is what I do and I never expected to waltz through this. In point of...

I have to tell you: I'm getting a bit discouraged about finding information on this case from the folks who investigated it. Yesterday, I wrote a letter to the CPD contact I made and told him that I fear the investigators do not want to share information with me because they may feel I am...

^^^^^ Also a valid point. As to where her body would have ended up had she been thrown in the water, she would have been carried a couple of miles downstream to be caught at the Marmet Locks & Dam. That is, of course, had she not gotten caught up on underwater obstructions or bank debris. I...

Actually I meant the wife could have had her killed, but in all honesty, I like the "friend" who picked her up walking theory since White was never charged.

Believe, I want to think outside the box. That's why I asked you to help. If it wasn't TRW, it had to be someone who saw her walking alone up Quarrier Street. How about this: someone she knew and trusted well enough to get into a car with, turned hinky on her. And btw, now we know Lynn...

Sorry to be so sporadic with the information. Here is what I learned today from a retired investigator who worked the case (he asked that his name not be used): First off, regarding Mr. Shamblin, the contract security guard: He was never even considered a suspect, and as shadowangel...

Excellent point, shadowangel. I've been fact checking all week and I've learned a couple of lessons, hard ones for someone whose rule is verify, verify, verify. For one, all of the dates I posted on the news reports from the Gazette and Daily Mail are incorrect! ALL OF THEM!!! Despite the...

Press reported the guard's "glasses were broken." He was a contract guard. The KCSO bailiff was a sworn officer. There is extensive video security around the building now, and indeed around the entire area, as the CPD, the KCSO, and three courthouses are all within a block of each other...

shadowangel, TW did call the parents around ten a.m. Saturday morning as the very first story tells us, as do the third and last stories in the CDM. He did not contact Tidewater employees until 6 p.m. Saturday. believe09, He (Shamblin) was though, without his glasses. Had he not been...

The following is the last of the Charleston Daily Mail news reports on the Lynn Priestley murder from the week she disappeared and the time her body was found. It is from the March 27, 1990 edition. I’m waiting for a lead on reporter Frank Hutchins from James A. Haught, Editor of the...

RE: White's political connections... certainly not as good as Lynn's. I'm searching that right now. And I believe the retired detective does not wish to say anything that might contradict the CCS. I'll know more about that soon.

I passed along shadowangel's comments to a detective familiar with the case. He told me that I would find the answer to why White was not charged in the case notes. However he did tell me he was no longer connected to the case and did not want to comment on the record his feelings.
