Kim was last seen on the evening of June 8, 1981 at an ice cream parlor near Sheldon Road and Ann Arbor Road in Canton, Michigan. She had recently moved to her mother's home in Canton from her father's home in Dundee, and had only been in Canton about a week when she vanished. She made plans to meet a friend at Haggerty Field in Hines Park that night, but never arrived. Kim wasn't reported missing for several days, and her mother refused to cooperate with the investigation. Her case is still unsolved.
