Forgive me if there's a thread on this man. I couldn't find it. Beaverton is just west of Portland. Warning: mugshot.

Former TriMet Driver Gets 50 Years In Prison

"A former Beaverton man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for making child *advertiser censored* and using his daughter in many of the sexually explicit photos.

Federal officials said 45-year-old Terance Carpenter coerced his daughter to pose in photos from 1997-2003 when she was 9 years old until she was 15 years old.

Agents served a search warrant at Carpenter's Beaverton apartment on Steamboat Lane in November 2006 and they seized three computers and several CDs for analysis.

The agents then found 4,218 photos and 31 videos of child *advertiser censored* on the items they seized. Federal officials said Carpenter's collection had children involved in all types of sexual conduct, including sadomasochistic abuse. Hundreds of the photos included Carpenter's daughter, according to the Department of Justice....."

and

"...A news release from the Department of Justice said Carpenter distributed the child *advertiser censored* on the Internet with a known *advertiser censored* source in Salem...."

I have really mixed feelings about the release of the details of this case. Knowing he did this to his own child is integral to the severity of the case but still, my heart breaks for her and the notoriety this case must have brought her way. Hopefully, the daughter has a new last name and can achieve some level of confidentiality, now that she's in her twenties.

I wonder if this case might be linked to a few others in the area...Michael Marceau, Lisa Ford, David Feathers.....

I wonder if these two cases might be linked in some way? We need to re-read this even though I think we have a thread on this other guy. There's actually more "back-story" in this article than we've recently been getting. Here's a link from 11/09:

Portland man given 50-year sentence for abusing daughter on live Internet broadcast

"A federal judge today sentenced a Portland man to 50 years in prison for sexually abusing his two young daughters in a live Internet broadcast to other pedophiles.

"The 35-year-old man pleaded guilty in April to two charges of producing child *advertiser censored*. Investigators determined he abused his daughters on camera. At the time, one of the girls was 2 years old and the other, who has special needs, was 10.

He was one of five pedophiles arrested in a national investigation of parents and guardians who sexually abused children in their care on camera. The government's account of this investigation, documented in court papers, offers a glimpse at an online underworld in which arrested pedophiles are quick to inform on others...."

and

"U.S. District Judge Robert E. Jones, who sentenced the Portland man, said it was one of the worst cases he had ever seen."

Note how the reporter says, "The government's account of this investigation, documented in court papers, offers a glimpse at an online underworld in which arrested pedophiles are quick to inform on others." Are those court papers available anywhere?

Also note that the guy (unnamed for his children's confidentiality) abused his special needs daughter. That is exactly what happened in Aloha (another suburb of Portland) with Lisa Ford and Michael Marceau. They sexually abused and produced *advertiser censored* with Lisa's severely disabled teen son and 6 year old daughter.

That hits close to home for me. Raping special needs children does me in.

We're always wondering about the judges. I salute the Oregonian for doing an interesting piece on Judge Robert E. Jones, the man we have to thank for Mr. Carpenter being sent away for 50 years. Please spend a moment and read this. It really gives us a view into the courtroom today.

Portland judge tells pornographer that his "acts are unforgivable"

"A veteran judge today cast one of the harshest sentences of his long career on a former Portland bus driver who spent six years creating pornographic photos of his daughter.

U.S. District Judge Robert E. Jones, who has punished more than 10,000 men and women for crimes since donning his first judicial robe in 1963, launched a memorable excoriation of Terance S. Carpenter.

The white-haired 82-year-old judge planted his eyes on Carpenter, 45, and dressed him down as a liar who had produced, traded and collected thousands of images of child *advertiser censored* -- including hundreds of photos of his daughter in naked poses from ages 9 to 15 -- and denied all of it in the very courtroom where they now sat.

"I'm going to sentence you, sir, to 50 years in prison," Jones said. "You are not a fit human being to be at large at any time. Your acts are unforgivable......"

Thank you kindly, your Honor. Justice was served in your courtroom today.

I agree...but, at least he's off the street. I guess we should be thankful for that.

What a monster.

I agree - what a monster. Especially what he did to his poor daughter.

In most cases, 50 years translates to 25 then eligible for parole. I certainly hope this scum dies in prison and have to high five the judge who gave him more than the maximum sentence. I just pray he's not released on parole for "good behaviour".
