Missing From: Copperas Cove, Texas

Twenty-one years ago, Elizabeth Ann Campbell was a hard-working college student at Central Texas College in Killeen, Texas. She was 20 years old and juggling school, getting ready for final exams and working at a 7-Eleven near the East Gate of the Fort Hood Army base. She lived at home and would always let her mother know where she was or where she was going.
The last time anyone saw Elizabeth was about midnight on April 25, 1988. A clerk at a 7-Eleven in Copperas Cove saw her about midnight at a payphone outside the store. Around midnight, Elizabeth's mother was awakened by a ringing telephone. By the time she reached the phone, the line was dead.
Elizabeth's family has never given up searching for her. They've written to 243 Texas sheriff's departments. They've followed leads from Atlanta to California. They want to bring her home, and Lt. Dan Austin of the Copperas Cove Police Department wants to help get them justice. Every time a killer is linked to crimes in Texas, Lt. Austin checks to see if the crimes were committed about the time Elizabeth went missing. He is working with the Texas Missing Person's Clearinghouse and is notified whenever a body is found that might be Elizabeth. He follows up on every lead, but so far, Elizabeth's family is waiting for answers.
