When Kendrick was last seen, he was wearing a white t-shirt and pajama shorts with pictures of baseballs and footballs on them.
Authorities in Houston, Texas have issued an AMBER alert for 3-year-old Kendrick Jackson who was last seen on April 7, 2006. According to officials, Kendrick's father reported the child vanished Friday morning while he was doing his laundry. Authorities say Kendrick's father told police he went upstairs to put a load of clothes in the dryer and when he returned downstairs, Kendrick was gone and the door was ajar.
Kendrick and his mother evacuated New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina. The family moved to Houston shortly thereafter. Kendrick's father is remarried and authorities say she had just left for work when Kendrick was reported missing. Police say 3-year-old Kendrick had been visiting his father since April 4, 2006 and just disappeared.
Authorities initially believed Kendrick was abducted by a stranger. But just three days after Kendrick was last seen, his father was arrested and charged with filing a false police report. He has made inconsistent statements and has a period of time which he cannot account for his whereabouts. Roderick Terrell Fountain is being held on federal gun possession charges. In June 2009, he was charged with Kendrick's murder. He is awaiting trial. Kendrick is still missing.
