GUILTY VA - Daisha Keeling, 19, shot to death, Dewitt, 19 March 2010

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The suspect in the murder of a woman in Dinwiddie county is scheduled to appear in court Monday morning for a preliminary hearing.

32 year old Darnell Taylor is charged with first degree murder in the death of 19 year old Daisha Keeling.

Keeling's body was found back in March on an interstate exit ramp.

Authorities say she'd been shot several times.

Investigators say the two knew each other.

He first met 19-year-old Tonya Jones through a telephone chat line, then found Daisha "Shay" Keeling, also 19, of Urbanna, on a similar chat line less than three months later... "He wanted to have two women to love each other and him at the same time," Dinwiddie Commonwealth's Attorney Lisa Caruso told a jury Thursday in Dinwiddie Circuit Court...

But after spending time with Keeling in March 2010, which included a three-way sexual encounter, Taylor decided that Keeling didn't fit into his fantasy, Caruso said. So during the early-morning hours of March 19, 2010, Taylor drove Jones and Keeling in his father's car to Dinwiddie County, where he stopped on the Dewitt exit ramp off Interstate 85. After encouraging the women to get out and look at the stars, Taylor first pulled one gun and then another, firing both at Keeling and striking her seven times. Taylor then left her to die...

A Dinwiddie jury sat through two days of sometimes bizarre testimony before finding Taylor guilty of first-degree murder and using a gun in that crime. It took them just 20 minutes to convict him, and 12 to recommend he spend the rest of his life behind bars.
