A 30-pound barracuda jumped into his boat and bit him.
The Coast Guard says the 65-year-old man was aboard a charter fishing boat about three miles off Tybee Island on Wednesday when it happened.
The boat owner says the fish wasn't hooked or anything -- it just leaped about 30 feet from the water to the boat. She says the barracuda was "sailing like he had wings."
The man was treated at a hospital for a serious cut on his finger."

Too bad the barracuda wasn't at Nerkley Matina.

OMG Tybee... just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water

actually this isn't all that unusual...i personally am aware of 3 'cuda attacks in boats...i scuba with them all the time, never feel threatened in the water, they follow closely out of curiousity. and love anything shiny. but if landed they will attack, and they do leap...one guy in keys had his jugular slashed this way...some 'cuda up to five feet. i have film i took of one right up in my face mask. if they "like" you , they are relentless and will follow you everywhere. this happened to my son once, and he was so freaked out by his "friend" he wouldn't go back in water all day. hahaha ...that fish really meant no harm, he just "liked" him. but it wasn't mutual!
