Colleen has tattoos on her back and on her ankles. Her ears and navel are pierced. When she was last seen, she had red highlights in her hair.

Colleen received a call on her cellular phone at approximately 3:00 p.m. on September 30, 2000. She was at her family's residence near Flamingo Boulevard and Sunrise Boulevard in Plantation, Florida at the time. She told her parents that she was going to Coral Springs, Florida for a short time and would return home by 6:00 p.m. She planned to attend a Florida Marlins' baseball game with her family that evening.

All of Colleen's personal belongings were left behind at her family's residence, except her cellular phone which she took with her. Her 1994 white two-door Mazda MX-6 with a sunroof, tinted windows and dents behind the driver's side door and rear wheel well was discovered abandoned in a Tamarac, Florida shopping center parking lot on October 6, 2000. There was no sign of Colleen or any indication of foul play at the scene. Colleen's cellular phone and purse were missing from the vehicle.

Subsequent investigations have turned up rumors revolving around her uncle. Some acquaintances have stated that Colleen's uncle supplied her with drugs, and was going to get her a job in a pornographic movie. These allegations have been denied by her uncle, and cannot be substantiated. However, police say she sometimes uses Ecstasy and LSD. The uncle is not considered a suspect at this time.
