Police in TN are searching for 35yo suspect Richard E Cathey for kidnapping and rape. Victim somehow freed herself and ran for help. Telling the public not to do anything but call 911.

On Mothers Day he was accused of kidnapping a women and inside her vehicle he banged her head on dashboard so bad she lost consciousness. He took her to a house with no electricity raped her and urinated on her.

Fox News just had this on but I can't seem to find any news this.

Warrants have been issued for the arrest of a Shelbyville man accused of kidnapping and threatening to kill his ex-girlfriend.
Richard E. Cathey, 35, King Arthur Trailer Court, led his 43-year-old victim to a hole in the ground he said would be her grave unless she followed his orders, she told police. Charges of especially aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault have been filed against Cathey, police said.

The victim had allegedly broken up with Cathey after an extended relationship. Cathey had been watching her home and stalking her since the breakup, the victim told police, then entered the residence about 8 p.m. Sunday, grabbed her by the hair and dragged her to her truck where he slammed her face into the dashboard and steering wheel before driving away.

This thread can be closed, as Mr Richard Elam Cathey turned himself in at the cannon county jailhouse on 5/20/2010 and is now in police custody

And on a further note, it was proven through testing, the victim falsified the report wherein he raped her.

I need a link to this information because I can't find a news story to verify it.

What's your hurry, najial?

Stick around Websueuths for a while, and you'll learn that "testing" can prove sexual intercourse has occurred by detecting body fluids or tissue damage. What it can't do is rule it out. In other words, the absence of seminal fluid, rapist's DNA, or tissue trauma does not disprove rape. What kind of testing do you refer to? From what official source do you get this information?

And on a further note, it was proven through testing, the victim falsified the report wherein he raped her.

This is a very serious accusation you have made toward the victim.

SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. - A suspected kidnapper and rapist remains on the loose, and 35-year-old Richard Elam Cathey's family is assisting authorities by pleading for him to surrender.

"I've not seen him, and I've not talked to him," said the suspect's mother, Elaine Cathey from her Woodbury home. "He should turn himself in."

Richard Cathey Jr. faces charges of especially aggravated kidnap and aggravated assault in Bedford County. There is also a rape charge in Cannon County for the Mother's Day kidnapping and days-long torture of a Shelbyville woman whose identity NewsChannel 5 is protecting.

Shelbyville Police Department detective Charles Merlo assures the public that Cathey's alleged attack and rape were not random. He knew his alleged victim pretty well.

The investigator said Cathey even allegedly went so far as to threaten to put his victim's body in a shallow grave.
"He was going to tie her to a pole, set her on fire, take pictures of her while she is burning so that he can send it to her children, and put her in the hole so she would never be found," said Merlo.

None of the local TV stations are saying that he is in custody.
