You are free to discuss your opinions on statements made, possible doubts you may have or questions raised by the information or lack thereof.
But if you start throwing around careless accusations against the family or sleuthing out their personal information or discussing the color of lipstick someone was wearing, you will be given a no expense paid vacation.
If the situation changes and if the investigation by LE points back to the family then these rules will change. We roll with the news and as more information is revealed and as LE gives us information, we adjust.
As I have said, imagine this is your child and people are looking at YOU.
Moreover, stereotyping some of these players is positively embarrassing to the forum. KNOCK IT OFF

First I've seen of this. Were BOTH parents meeting the bus, or just one? The only other reference I've seen of both meeting the bus was in Kaine's letter.

At the end of the school day, when his father and stepmother did not find him getting off the school bus at 3:45, they called the school.

That's when they found out that Kyron had not been in class all day long. They had not been informed, during the day, that Kyron had not been in class.

Kaine's letter--snippet:

We did not know he was not at school until we went to get him off of the bus at 3:30 and he was nowhere to be found. The bus driver immediately called the school which responded that his teacher had not seen him all day in class, at which point we notified police in partnership with the school.

Edited to remove link and topic. Oops... sorry I posted that blog link. Did not know that it was off limits--asterisks appeared, so I suppose it is.

Oh, I see your point if you are basing this on a POI that would be keeping the child captive. I was basing my reasoning on a POI that was acting alone and wanted the child gone, which I certainly hope is not the case. Sometimes I get so caught up in my own theories. I have two theories, but can not discuss them at this time.

Following up on the above, I wouldn't call this a theory right now - more a brainstorming session in writing on my part.

Some seem to think LE knows a lot, while some seem to think LE is at square one...I've been trying to answer some of these questions for myself:

Why does LE believe this is an isolated incident? Why such an extensive ground search and rescue effort limited apparently to well-defined areas? Why is LE not sharing more information? And more, and more...but here's one scenario I've been mulling over:

Abduction by known person, that is, LE knows or has a pretty good idea of who the perp is (maybe identified with a combination of an eyewitness and actually interviewed??)
LE either found evidence of or has reason to believe Kyron is alive and is being held captive in a nearby location
LE believes perp may believe they're on to him/her somehow and has now abandoned Kyron in this location hoping they cannot tie Kyron back to him/her, and that perhaps Kyron will not be found for a long time
LE is trying their best, with the advice of experts, to take the actions that will lead to finding Kyron alive in this location and also watching this person to find out where Kyron is. Maybe if they brought this person in and named them a POI, they really believe the person wouldn't talk and that would actually eliminate any hope of finding Kyron alive.

Thinking out loud right now, but thought it was worth sharing at least...

ETA: In the meantime, LE are hoping that the massive search and rescue leads to something...

I'm beginning to wonder if one of the parent's are in the Witness Protection Program. :waitasec:

Here in the county, rural areas and on busy roads, the buses stop at the end of the driveways.

gibby207 said: Sometimes I'm deep, Emma... but not often! LOL (you know that... lol) I'm torn between childhood bubble and start early with the dangers. I guess it was a good opportunity, but as they moved on, maybe it's not as damaging as it is to me, as a mother, knowing my child is out THERE. I'm getting frustrated, though not as frustrated as his family, as I have no stake in this. But I DO question if I'm just snooping or sleuthing... is it doing any good? (more deepness... lol)

All I know is my irritation/frustration level at finding Kyron is at it's nadir tonight, and I'm agitated enough to go down there and put on boots and go searching on my own...seriously.... lol

If I may make one final comment on said subject? Baby Einstein's Julia Clark teamed up with John Walsh to make a dvd entitled 'STRANGER DANGER
The Safe Side Stranger Safety DVD'. It is geared towards kids aged 5-10 years old. There is a brief clip from the dvd at this link. http://www.mypreciouskid.com/stranger-danger.html

This is the only reference I could find either about both meeting the bus (the letter). Interesting to find out (which we won't) what the bus driver has to say. Kind of odd both parents meeting a child at the bus, unless maybe they when somewhere everyday at this time, like...the gym for instance. It appears there home is rather isolated so they may pick him up, depending where this stop is located. It is strange but there maybe a reason. Wish we knew.

Why does LE believe this is an isolated incident?
They have been given a profile by the FBI and they are wisely using it. Read all of this article about who abducts young children.

Same here, unless your driveway is a designated turn-around. But I rarely see two parents meeting the bus.

Again, my question is were both parents meeting the bus or just one?

How does a child go from this, to gone?

God bless and protect this child. Comfort him, give him peace, keep him free from harm, and please bring him home to the love and care of his family.

I do believe that Kyron left the school area alone ; I think he went into the edge of the woods to look for something connected to his exhibit. Then, he became disoriented, and inadvertantly moved deeper into the woods. It can happen to adults who have some experience in the deep woods of the NW ; imagine how easily a 7 year old boy could become lost. And he was not missed for a very long time, which worked against him.

I think LE detected the pings of Kyron's cell phone ( I'm *speculating* here that he owns one ), within this specific 2 mile radius. They are going house to house on the off chance that someone abducted him in the woods,or saw or heard anything unusual. How heartbreaking this would be for his family ; LE knows the area he's in,but can't get to him. IMO Kyron is a smart, and probably resourceful boy ; all he and LE need is a little luck......

On one Criminal Minds show, one of the characters said that stranger danger did more damage than good BECAUSE most children are not abducted by strangers. They are mostly abducted by family and then by acquaintances. Only .43 out of 1000 are abducted by strangers. The statistics are different for teenagers, though.

Children need to be taught a code word and they need to practice it everyday while they are younger. "If mommy wants you to come out to the car with someone, I will always use the code word."

Hey, Gidget. Which photo... that link takes us to the beginning of the slide show. Which photo number?

Faring better than I am. I get a blank screen with some headline-formatting type stuff, but black and then what seems a small FB logo box in the center. :(

Wish I could help you, but when I clicked on the link there was no picture there. I know I saw it earlier

I saw it earlier, too. There was a pic of Kyron wearing the CSI shirt and a red jacket. I thought the picture was important because he looked somewhat different than the pictures we've seen of him before.

Can't imagine buckling baby in the car seat, then both going to meet the bus. Just very odd. Also, considering that Kyron would have had his science fair project with him, it would have been a crowd in a Mustang, unless they were using Kaine's truck.
