WA - Marsha Sitton, 24, Mill Creek, 24 June 1977

Marsha Sitton, 24, was found June 24, 1977, in the backseat of her Chevy Nova. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled. Police say the slain woman's husband, Kerry Sitton, is responsible. Forensic evidence taken from a 12-inch piece of rope found at the crime scene has linked him to the murder, Snohomish County sheriff's spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said

They believe he killed her in their home, took her car and body to the location where it was discovered and walked less than three miles back to his house where he cleaned up and disposed of any trace of evidence.

The one piece of evidence he forgot to get rid of was the 12-inch piece of rope he used to strangle her. When he cut the ligature off her neck, he left that small piece behind-along with his DNA.

He agreed to a lie-detector test, but the Sheriff's Office said the man had to cancel because of seizures a brain tumor was causing.

He died in December 2004 without ever undergoing a polygraph test. ( NOTE: Kerry Sitton her Husband at the time)
