Former teacher in Virginia facing child *advertiser censored* charges

Washington (CNN) -- A former high school teacher in Virginia was charged Wednesday with transporting and possessing child *advertiser censored*, a discovery that was made after he was accused of engaging in sexual acts with a 16-year-old male former student, according to court documents.

Kevin Garfield Ricks, 50, was arrested in February at Osbourn High School in Manassas, Virginia, after authorities were notified of the alleged sexual misconduct, according to the criminal complaint filed against him Wednesday in U.S. District Court.

Another student apparently reported the alleged offense to police after seeing a Facebook message from Ricks posted on the 16-year-old's Facebook page that read, "You told me our experience was your first with a guy," according to the complaint....

I don't know what to say.

Here is a five page article on this guy. It gives a whole list of everywhere he has been. Also highlights how he was able to keep repeating his crimes. I posted this lnk last week to a friends facebook because he went to school in one of the schools this guy was a teacher.

Former Manassas Teacher Pleads Guilty To Child *advertiser censored*

"A former Manassas high school teacher pleaded guilty to six counts of producing child *advertiser censored* and one count of possessing.

"This case is a chilling reminder to parents and kids that sometimes the face of evil is the familiar and the everyday," said United States Attorney Neil MacBride.

Federal prosecutors say Kevin Ricks' victims ranged in age from 11 to 17-years-old. Authorities say they believe Ricks may have scores of other victims, after they found photos on his laptop computer and in his home in Federalsburg, Md., showing former students naked or in sexual positions. Additionally, Ricks reportedly kept journals detailing his effort to befriend and the subsequent abuse of numerous boys, dating to the 1970s...."

Va. teacher pleads guilty, gets 25 years for child *advertiser censored*


"....Ricks, now 50, pleaded guilty to child *advertiser censored* charges Thursday in federal court in Alexandria, admitting that he got boys in his care drunk, fondled them and took sexually explicit photographs and videos. That abuse occurred across the globe for more than three decades, Ricks admitted in a statement of facts submitted with the plea documents.

He pleaded guilty to six counts of production of child *advertiser censored* and one possession charge.

Ricks was a "master manipulator...."



Why are all these states willing to dismiss charges for the actual sexual abuse? I don't get it. Were the cases all outside the SOL? This man damaged scores of young people's lives. Did the victims agree to this plea?

I still don't see any explanation as to why only charges on child *advertiser censored* rather than sexual assault.
