Today police said in a release they have determined the man died of trauma to the upper body over one year ago.
Forensic anthropologists working with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner concluded the man was a European male in his mid 30s or early 40s, about 5 feet 3 inches tall and may have had East-Asian or Hispanic ancestry. He was wearing a green American Eagle brand zip-up jacket, Cherokee brand pajama pants, a grayish blue-colored T-shirt with the picture of a classic hot-rod and the words "76 Nationals, South Calif: Coastal Speedway" on it. He was also wearing white Reebok sneakers.
A chain necklace around his neck, with a stone, a heart pendant and an "evil eye" talisman may also become an important clue in determining the man's identity.
