Short man sought in killing

Montgomery County detectives are looking for a 3-foot, 11-inch murder suspect in connection with a shooting last week in Silver Spring, officials said.

The suspect, Henry Chavez, 28, current address unknown, is known to frequent Silver Spring and Wheaton and weighs about 85 pounds, police said. Detectives have obtained a first-degree murder warrant for him in the slaying of Hamington Luis Ravanales Orozco, 27.

Police originally believed that the victim’s name was Hamilton Luis Rabanales. Just before 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Ravanales Orozco was with a group outside a residence in the 10100 block of Georgia Avenue just before the incident occurred.

Police urged anyone who knows where Chavez is, or knows what happened to Ravanales Orozco, to call 240-773-5070. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477), and be eligible for a possible reward.
