** Please note that it's important, since we'll be reviewing a variety of information, that we don't turn this into a General Discussion thread, and cause more work for our mods. The goal is to look for new information, information that now has more meaning to us than it did earlier, and document it here, so let's stay focused!

If we want to discuss possible meanings of what we find, let's do it in one of the discussion threads, so we can stay focused on our fact finding mission here.

** June 9 MCSO Press Releases

News Release from: Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office DAY 6 NOON BRIEIFNG ON KYRON HORMAN SEARCH
Posted: June 9th, 2010 10:54 AM

Multnomah County Sheriff's Office Captain Jason Gates will conduct a press brieifing at 1200 today with updates regarding the continuing search for Kyron Horman. The Horman family will not be present at the 1200 briefing, but a statement from the family will be read by the MCSO family liaison, Captain Mike Shults.

News Release from: Multnomah Co. Sheriff's Office DAY 6 MCSO 1600 HOURS BRIEFING REGARDING CONTIUING SEARCH FOR KYRON HORMAN
Posted: June 9th, 2010 7:32 PM

June 9, 2010 - 1600 Briefing

Capt. Jason Gates:

Good Afternoon. I'm Capt. Jason Gates, and I am the Incident Commander for today in the search for Kyron.

Earlier today we released a statement from the Horman family regarding their thanks and appreciation for all the support they've received during the continuing search for Kyron.
A copy of that statement is available to the media and public on flashalertportland.net

I'd like now to introduce Klamath County Sheriff Tim Evinger to speak to the combined search and rescue operations currently underway:

Sheriff Evinger:

Search and Rescue teams from around the state are now responding to this search operation. This is a natural progression for this type of search operation. This is our 3rd year of interoperability and mutual aid at this level. Statewide organization allows for identical training across state and combined training with multiple agencies. Different agencies have different resources and combined efforts allow us to bring a variety of resources together. Multnomah County and Klamath have conducted search and rescue operations together in the past.

Captain Gates:

The FBI's Mobile Command Post arrived today. It will provide additional space and resources for our large staff of investigators including work stations, Internet access and other such items.

We have no other new information at this time.

Closing:

Again, this all about bringing Kyron home. We are doing everything we can logically and legally that we can.

Statement by Kyron Horman’s Immediate Family
June 9, 2010 Noon
Read by Capt. Mike Shults, Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office

http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2010/06/family_says_please_dont_stop_s.html

Kyron’s family would like to thank people for support and interest in finding their son. The outpouring of support and continued effort strengthens their hope.

We need folks to continue to assist us in our goal. Please search your properties – cars, out buildings, sheds, etc.
Also, check with neighbors and friends who may be on vacation or may need in assistance in searching. There are many resources here to help you search, so please don’t stop.

It is obviously a difficult time and the family want to speak to the public so you can hear it from Kyron’s family as they come together to share their message. Their objective is to keep the focus on Kyron and not about anything else.

Case Review Reference Links - June 9 - Classmate TP

There were two video interviews of TP. Both are linked below, and transcriptions of TP are included.

Video transcription of TP:

- "I went downstairs, and that was the last time I saw him and I never did see him after that."

- "And she was like 'oh no where's Kyron there's only five' and Miss Porter's like it's alright calm down, calm down she's probably in the bathroom or getting a drink of water and she's like alright I'm gonna leave and she left."

Kyron Horman Last Seen Friday Morning

Note: reporter says TP saw Kyron around 8:45am:

Article: http://www.kptv.com/news/23842774/detail.html

Video: http://www.kptv.com/video/23842579/index.html

Video transcription:

TP: "And he walked by the hallway and I'm like, Hi, Kyron, and he's like, Hi. I'm gonna go see this cool one. Electric one. And I'm like, Alright, bye. And that's the last time I saw him. He never did make it back to class."

==============================================

KOIN has consolidated the majority of their articles, and most articles are no longer available. Fortunately, I'd posted this article in Kyron's media thread when it was published, so we have a record of it.

Horman's Desk Mate Says Substitute Noticed Him Missing
Last Update: 6/09 11:30 pm

snip T says Kyron was in school for at least an hour Friday morning and that he saw Kyron's step-mother leave the school without Kyron.

http://www.koinlocal6.com/content/n...itute-Noticed-Him/TVY3YTREG0SyCP3tb3MkZg.cspx

==============================================

This article also is no longer available on KOIN, but our member greenpalm quoted a portion of it, so we have a record of it:

But, Portland Public School spokesman Matt Shelby said the account can't be true: "There were no substitutes at the school that day (the day Kyron disappeared)," he said.”

Do we know if there WAS an electric project. I know I never heard of one other than TP's account about Kyron. Wouldn't that be a telling factor if there was not one and this is indeed what Kyron told TP?

Search Reveals Sex Offenders Within 10 Miles Of School
According to the National Sex Offender public website, there are 13 convicted sex offenders living within a 10 mile...
June 09
Video: http://www.kptv.com/video/23824845/index.html

I wish news reports like this would emphasize that

- not all sex offenders are registered. some have not yet been arrested, charged, convicted, let alone registered.

- the number of registered sex offenders who do not comply with requirements and keep their current address updated with LE.

- the number of registered sex offenders in the subject, as well as surrounding, state(s) whose whereabouts are currently unknown by LE.

- Terrified parents in Portland, Ore., have begun keeping their children out of the elementary school where second-grader Kyron Horman vanished after an early-morning science fair.

- Nearly 40 students failed to report to Skyline Elementary School Tuesday, five days after Kyron was last seen walking toward his classroom.

- "We are looking for a living Kyron Horman," he said

http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Media/kyr...ts-kids-school-boy-vanished/story?id=10864503

"It is obviously a difficult time and the family want to speak to the public so you can hear it from Kyron’s family as they come together to share their message. Their objective is to keep the focus on Kyron and not about anything else."

BBM. I sense a little foreshadowing here. At this point, what "anything else" were people going to focus on?

Investigators won’t confirm whether Horman’s stepmother, who said she dropped him off at school before he disappeared, or anyone else in the family, has submitted to a polygraph test.

snip

While the family hasn’t made much of a formal statement, except for a brief statement that was read by Multnomah County sheriff’s Capt. Mike Shults during a news conference, Horman’s father and stepmother maintained some measure of normalcy by going to the gym on Wednesday afternoon.
