At 20 minutes and 10 seconds in this video KB warns Cheney Mason that she is going to inquire about why Cheney Mason himself, when he was an "expert commentator", (prior to becoming part of the "dream team") indicated that Casey was/is guilty and would serve life in prison at the minimum. In response to KB's question Mason acted as if he didn't know what KB is talking about and further he has the complete audacity to blame the press/media!

Here is Cheney's actual "commentating" that KB refers to broadcast in 2008 (when CM had darker hair and the good sense to apply his "expert commentating" to the obvious guilt of KC).

Isn't it remarkable that CM "pulled an Anthony" in yesterday's press release by not answering the question AT ALL and further, blaming others: "many things have been said". "Things evaporate" ..Is THAT vague enough?? He proceeded to sweep his prior "commentating" completely under the rug as if it never happened.

Does Cheney Mason think we are really so dumb that we will "forget" what he said when he was a "commentator"? Yeah, "many things have been said" Cheney Mason....But it is fairly unusual move to go from "commentating" that someone is guilty to actually legally defending that same person! So..explain yourself, Cheney Mason (and don't act like you did not go on broadcast television in 2008 to state categorically what we all know..that KC is gulity!!

(GO KATHY B!)

Thoughts??

AZLawyer in the legal thread explained that his comments out of court can not be used in court. But I'm grateful for KB's persistence in exposing the defense's flaws!

I know that he can't be sued for changing sides. Too bad, though.

I agree Nums24, but this is a fight in the media that Kathi B is fighting.

It was made in the media spotlight, and Mason did a complete turnaround in the media with his walking out of the courtroom with ICA arm in arm.

Is Mason so out of it he doesn't realize his media clips are recorded and preserved? Apparently not. Bless Kathi for stepping up and asking the question. :poke:

The only way he and ICA will be walking out of the courtroom arm in arm is if he is also wearing shackles. And they'll be using the side door, not the entrance. And yup, their "ride" will be waiting for them, escorts and all.

If the good 'ol boy Mason did not know this clip exists, I hope he knows it now. Out and out lying like that is so maddening.
I wish I could sit him down "Clockwork Orange" style and make him watch it over and over!

I :beats: Kathi.

Regarding your bold above: Mark Geragos went on tv stating that Scott Peterson was guilty and then later accepted the case as his defense attorney. I guess, in that case, money talked. Well, guess how well that worked out for dear ole Scott? Yep, he's sitting his rear on death row and Mark Geragos still has his sun glasses on and cell phone permanently attached to his ear.

I keep waiting for Geragos to try to get in on KC's defense. He and JB would make a most excellent defense team (insert my very sarcastic tone).

The only thing better would be ICA sitting next to him as they watch it together! I wonder if ICA is aware of his prior public comments !!!

Don't forget that Geragos also said in his opening statement that Scott was "stone cold innocent."

I don't think Geragos practices ourside California even for high profile cases.

I think it is hilarious that KB confronted him with his prior remarks. I hope she continues to ask him about it every.single.time he walks near a mic. Tainting that jury pool can work both ways. ;)

Perfect example of why camera lovin' defense attorneys should choose their words very carefully should their circumstances ever change.

I am certain that if pressed on the matter CM would clarify that that was his opinion at the time as an external casual observer without access to the Defense work product and ICA.

He'd claim that now he is an integral part of the Defense and has talked to ICA about what happened that her story is very compelling and ... now it all makes sense, now he understands that ICA is completely innocent.

He drank the KC Koolaid = Notoriety and Fame = Media Exposure = $$$$$$$.

ITA Cyberborg. Had CM done that in the beginning HE would look a whole lot better now....and if he had given the public even ONE reason why he NOW thinks ICA is innocent.....well she would look a lot better now too.

I don't know how he got a job as a commentator, dude slurs his words worse than the town drunk. How can anyone understand anything he says?!
(haha I hope I'm thinking of the right guy)

Does anyone else think it is "possible" that the defense chose that day for their "presser" (to announce the addition of counsel) to coincide with the presser Mason did in his other high profile case (Jim Greer)??

Since the trial for Greer has been pushed back to 2011.......one can't help but wonder if Mason will be departing KC's case prior to trial?????????

Kinda like Mark Geragos with Scott Peterson.

My bet is that it wouldn't matter one whit to her because of how she is so capable of saying one thing, but saying something completely different two minutes later! She'd probably love how he can "shift gears" ---just like her!

His flip flopping is really, really shameful and disgusting. It is a horrible reflection on the legal profession. The ABA needs to crack down on this kind of nonsense. No wonder people don't respect lawyers. This is sick.

CM "did not remember" saying anything harsh or critical of KC..I think (also) when he said that "things evaporate" he meant that his previous interview (condemning KC) would evaporate--but it hasn't!

BBM. That's the whole point of the Defense delays BTW, to seek as much distance in time from the events of June/July 2008 until the trial in May 2011 (if HHJP stays firm) to allow the details to 'evaporate', i.e., enable people to forget or mis-remember and re-write the story.

The Defense are trying to put the ICA/ZFG Genie back into the bottle and re-invent her.

So much is accurately captured and recorded for posterity and beyond in depositions, photographs, statements, motion testimony, and video though that it is harder to do so. The SA have a goldmine library to draw from.
