GUILTY NY - John Thomas for child *advertiser censored*, Harlem, 2010

I must be totally sleeping on the job as I totally missed this. The story is from mid-August. One after another, well respected teachers with full background checks are being arrested. Did they suddenly make a wrong turn or is technology finally catching up with them? And who shows up in court in gym shorts? Most courts have dress codes. That could not have gone over well. On second thought, yes it did as he got to walk. Audacity.

"An accused perv teacher who's worked for some of the city's poshest prep schools had a massive stash of kiddie *advertiser censored* on his computer, the feds said Thursday.

Authorities hauled 43 CD-Roms with illicit images and videos of children engaged in sex acts out of 28-year-old John E. Thomas' Harlem home.

He was to begin teaching Fifth Grade at the Bank Street School for Children in the fall; he had taught for the past three years at Horace Mann and Friend's Seminary before that.

He's been a camp counselor at the prestigious 92nd Street Y this summer and had clothed snapshots of children at his camp on his computer. The *advertiser censored* featured children around the same ages of those he taught and counseled.

Parents of kids at the camp were horrified...."

I noticed a comment under this article referencing an earlier, and even larger discovery on a NY educators computer. Just wow. The actual *advertiser censored* and the varied responses from staff and co-workers. The techs who found the *advertiser censored* were fired. If you have five minutes, slip down the rabbit hole and look at the issue of child *advertiser censored* through many different brilliant people's minds. Note, there are four pages.

"A prep school teacher described as "a parent's worst nightmare" pleaded guilty yesterday to sending and receiving child *advertiser censored*. John Thomas, 28, sheepishly admitted he used the web file-sharing program LimeWire to get videos of children engaged in sex acts. "I did use it to download material considered to be child *advertiser censored*," he muttered to Federal District Judge Kevin Duffy as his grim-faced family sat stiffly in a near-empty courtroom...."

He was found to have 43 CDs worth of lewd images of children that he downloaded from a peer file sharing network...."
