GUILTY WI - Stephanie Low, 22, Wausau, 10 Oct 2010

Yet another missing young woman :(

Snipped from news link above
"Stephanie Ann Low, 22, was last heard from during a telephone conversation with a friend at about 1 a.m. Sunday, according to the Wausau Police Department.
Low's final phone call ended abruptly and calls to her phone since have gone unanswered, said Low's mother, Claudia Blake, 46, a certified nursing assistant in Waukesha. Low also had been the subject of several recent threats, but Blake said she would not elaborate because she did not want to jeopardize the police investigation.

Low, who was unemployed at the time, had been out with friends at a Wausau tavern late Saturday and early Sunday, Blake said. When Low returned home, Low told her brother's girlfriend in a phone conversation that she didn't want to be home alone. The telephone conversation ended abruptly a short while later and friends who went to Low's home later Sunday found that she had left her two dogs without food and water, Blake said."

Few things that popped up in a search for Stephanie.

Stephanie Ann Low, 22, has been missing since early Sunday, police say, and her family and friends have begun searching for her along the Wisconsin River.

Low's mother, Claudia Blake told police the disappearance was suspicious and that it was unusual for her to not contact anyone or leave without making sure someone was taking care of her dogs.

"We're very, very concerned. We miss you and I'm so so scared. She knows what that does to me if I don't talk to her or know she's okay. I go crazy," Blake said.

Low talked to a friend at 1 a.m. Sunday, but no one has heard from her since.
Low's brother Dan Blake says his girlfriend heard from his sister, when she frantically called, asking him to come over to her Thomas Street apartment.
He says when friends went to the apartment, Low was gone and so were some of her things. "Sheets were missing off her bed and her blanket was missing and the slippers she always wears, always, there was only one in the apartment," Dan Blake said.

Ugh. That's the part that has me really worried. I'm headed to northern WI tomorrow with friends, and we'll be driving through Wausau and staying a bit north of there--I guess I'll keep my eyes open.

Thanks TLynne.

On her facebook account Stephanie says something about starting over and the fact that people just can't be happy for her (new relationship), the last four years were wasted and now she is happy. Paraphrasing, not exact quote. In the one court link in my post above there was an eviction. I wonder if the other party was an ex-bf and relates to her statement about the last four years?

I wonder how much time passed between the call to the brother's gf and the time "friends" showed up at her apartment? I thought I saw she wasn't reported missing until Sunday at 4:00 pm., why the lapse in reporting?

Yes, the missing sheets and the single slipper does not bode well.

Stephanie Low's father searches for his little girl

WAUSAU(WAOW)--Stephanie Low went missing Sunday night and while the police investigation continues, her father feels he needs to do something so he can sleep at night.

That's why Wednesday afternoon he went to the boat dock at D.C. Everest park and hit the water in search of his daughter preparing for the worst.
George Low, Stephanie Low's Father says, "I figured bad news always ends up on the river."

Low says it's not in his daughter nature to take off and he feels what's even more scary is the way they last spoke to her. "It was just the way the call ended, she got frantic and the call abruptly ended."

In the original link it shows her with an "unidentified person" according to the caption. So clearly none of her family OR friends know who he is. That's probably why they put it up, to identify him.

Crime lab reviews evidence in missing-person case
Posted Friday October 15, 2010

WAUSAU, Wis (WSAU) The state crime lab is analyzing some evidence from Stephanie Low's apartment on Thomas Street. She's the Wausau woman who's been missing since Sunday morning.

Police won't say what evidence they've recovered from the apartment, but they do say they now believe she was taken against her will.

what I find the strangest is that Stephanie claims to have been the subject of "several recent threats". most people are never threatened in any serious way, but several? at her age?

my hunch is that she knew some shady characters but what they were up to I can't say. I would think her boyfriend or other close friends probably have some clue as to some of her recent associations.

this is only 25 miles or so from where Kayla Berg disappeared isn't it?

I wish the best for the family and hope she isn't harmed in any way. It doesn't sound good though at this point with LE suspecting she was taken, esp. with threats before.

. Stephanie's family searched for her on the Wisconsin River and in Wausau parks, they even distributed flyers and T-shirts. Police went to Lows apartment, they say they found suspicious evidence that was sent to the crime lab.
"There were some things we found in the apartment that were unusual that could lead us to believe there was harm done to her," said Hilts. Low says "That's probably what I think about the most but I'm really glad now that they're going to be looking in the right spots."

WAUSAU, Wis. (CBS/WSAW) Wisconsin police say they have found evidence in the apartment of missing Wausau woman Stephanie Low that may provide some answers about her disappearance, reports WSAU.

Police will not say what was recovered from the apartment, but have reason to believe that the 22-year-old was taken against her will. She was last heard from early Sunday.

CBS affiliate WSAW said Stephanie placed a frantic call to her brother that morning, asking him to come her Thomas Street apartment; however, when he arrived she was nowhere to be found.

"If she's out there and somebody knows where she is, they just need to come forward, there's a lot of people who want to know what happened to Stephanie," her father, George Low, told the station.

Low is a 22-year-old white female, 5-2, 135-pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. If you have information about the case, call Wausau police at 715-261-7800.
