Greg McArthur - During the Nov. 17 break-in he stole more than 40 pieces of clothing, a pornographic movie, a sex toy and a cat.

The homeowner said he left a message for the homeowner on their computer:

"Go ahead and call the police. I want to show the judge your really big dildos." He also took a photo of the message.

TimothyAppleby - And the Belleville police knew nothing about the two sex assaults in Tweed in September, 2009, the woman who was burgled has said.

BBM: WTH???? He stole her CAT???? This is new info. Where did he put her cat????
(respectfully coloured by me)

With all due respect, where does it say RW took a cat?

I have only found that he took a PHOTO of a CAT

Please disregard this post if this has already been clarified :)

Speaking of cats, WTH would he take a photo of the victim's cat?

The intertwining of cats in this horror story is making me feel sick, too.

The reporter texting the info from the Globe and Mail fixed his post later to report it was a photo of a cat. He had posted that RW had taken a cat, I saw that post myself earlier today on the live stream. Wondergirl was posting the info as quickly as it was appearing, along with AG, earlier today

Rw may well have spotted J.L.while he was out ''bird watching'' with binoculars and camera, or he could even have a camera mounted on his car,or plane... I bet every free moment he had, was spent in one way or another seeking out potential victims.Goodness knows, he could have used info gleaned from other homes to seek and find J.L .ie. she organized school bus timetables!

Yes, I think this is what happened. It was an error that was quickly amended. I remember another blog excerpt where the reporter had made a mistake with a time and in her next entry asked someone (?) to correct it for her.

We were all working at a frantic pace and too busy to go back to check if any of our copy & pastes had changed.

I never believed that RW stole a live cat and posted as much. It's a relief to know that he didn't. (Tempting to put a LOL here but under the circumstances, that would be inappropriate.)

RW did take some very odd souvenirs besides the lingerie and clothing. The picture of a cat was just one of them.

This may have been already posted but here it is again.. what stood out for me in this article was the statement that even though he has been receiving full pay since arrest and will continue for another 45 days after convicted, he may not be able to repay the military if it has been chewed up with lawyers etc..therefore no funds no repayment.... guess you can't get blood from a turnip but there are other assets......

Not sure if this info has been heard before, but I just saw on the CBC that RW's 10 hour confession/interview with LE is being condensed to 2 1/2 hours for tomorrow's proceedings. This would give enough time to hear the victims' statements afterward, then the final sentencing, and hopefully conclude this nightmare.

OMG I hope all this sick and twisted coverage is not going to start copy cat crimes...

The screen was removed and entry was gained through an open window.
The man entered three separate bedrooms and inappropriately touched two of the three women who were asleep

opppps I guess I should have read the whole article...the last line says:

There have been about 20 similar incidents over the past two years in the city, mainly targetting young women who live near the universities.

Williams victim was 'simple girl full of plans' who travelled world

By Tom Spears, Ottawa Citizen October 19, 2010 6:04 PM

While Jessica Lloyd's family attends court sessions and talks to reporters, the Comeau family has made few public statements.

Marie-France Comeau was born in Quebec City and grew up in Quebec, New Brunswick and Germany, her aunt Edith Castonguay of New Brunswick recalls.

"I saw Marie-France grow up. She was a simple girl who was full of plans. Her beautiful smile and enjoyment of life — how could one not love this child, who became a beautiful woman? Then this monster destroyed everything," she said in an exchange of emails with the Ottawa Citizen. She wouldn't speak on the phone.

Comeau joined the military to travel the world, following her father, grandfather and four members of the generation before that. And travel she did.

Military screening process must change, say experts

By JAMIE LONG, QMI Agency
Last Updated: October 19, 2010 5:52pm

Retired Col. Michel Drapeau also criticized the military's screening process.

"We have all sorts of tools available to us," he said, citing the rigorous screening procedures - including lie-detector tests - the RCMP and Canada's spy agency, CSIS, put their recruits through.

"(The military) selection process is the same as it was when I joined the forces almost 50 years ago," he said, advocating for the revision of the military's appointment process.

Drapeau said officials should consider using an independent selection committee for promoting personnel in the future.

Davies says the public's perception of a typical serial killer, odd and separated from society, is another reason Williams' crimes went on for so long.

"If you were lost in a back alley and you saw Willie Pickton and Russell Williams, who would you go to for help? You would choose Williams, right?" said Davies.

Anything is possible, FF, but even this guy started before the explicit coverage of RW's case.

" ... broke into a south end apartment last month ... "

Also,

"There have been about 20 similar incidents over the past two years in the city, mainly targetting young women who live near the universities."

Sadly, these crimes have always existed and will continue to exist.

No doubts that he stalked her and did his research before committing this crime. I don't believe his ascertation that he'd just "seen her" working out on her treadmill. How on earth did he end up there (in the middle of nowhere, far from the road) to even see her???

MOO

All of the questions that we have answers to...Are those he (RW) provided. So far, nothing more - nothing less. So...I'm not so sure that this "investigation" is over.

Jessica Lloyd remembered by friends as happy, popular

By Linda Nguyen, Postmedia News October 19, 2010 6:04 Pm

Her friends described her as someone who always captured everyone's attention when she walked into the room. She was a beautiful girl with long flowing brown hair and piercing green eyes. Lloyd loved hockey and was excited for the upcoming Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver. Her biggest wish though was to be able to see her beloved Toronto Maple Leafs win a Stanley Cup.

She was loud and quickly became known to her tight-knit group of friends for clever one-liners.

Lloyd was also extremely close to her brother, and would lovingly tease him about being able to speed faster on her black Ninja motorcycle than he could on his.

The pic of her house with her mail box made me think of JL walking down the lane to get her mail. Any male driving by at the time would have "taken a look" at her, after all she was a very attractive woman. JMO RW spotted her while driving by, as he drove by daily he would noticing when lights were on or off, how many cars in driveway etc, how many tire tracks in her driveway. From watching a house it would be easy to determine if she lived alone. Then stopping in for a peep show into her windows to get a closer look and then he escalated from there.

Williams's murder victims pleaded for their lives

tp-lloyd-comeau-101910.jpg

He took photos of her after forcing her to model her own lingerie. Three witnesses who passed the house saw an SUV parked there for several hours that night.

After three hours, Williams forced Lloyd into his vehicle, giving her repeated assurances he would let her go if she co-operated. She was blindfolded and Williams drove them in his SUV to his Cosy Cove Lane home in Tweed.

Burgess said Williams killed Lloyd by striking her on the head with a flashlight and then strangling her with rope until she stopped moving. Williams then drove back to CFB Trenton around 10 p.m. and slept at the base because he had to catch an early flight to California

Well, from what has been published of late, he may still be entitled to his pension. If so, good on him, because one of his victims is sueing him and will likely be given access to those proceeds!
