GUILTY Canada - Bill Surkis for child *advertiser censored*, Montreal, 2010

I understand curiosity. I do. But for things that are KNOWN to be illegal and/or despicable, isn't a written description sufficient? Each one of us on WS knows what child *advertiser censored* is and we keep those images tightly wrapped up and at bay. We deal with the crime. We don't need to see the evidence. Does anyone need to download 9 hours of images of adult rape, animal torture, stabbings, decapitations, waterboarding? Didn't think so.

Any man who is bright enough to be the director of B'nai Brith is also bright enough to be able to draw conclusions from a written description (he's a grandfather, after all, and thus would know children's anatomy, developmental stages, and reaction to pain and trauma) AND would fully understand that his actions are highly illegal. Shame. Shame. Shame.

Ruined his life????? What about the children? Read his apology carefully. Note who he's most sorry for.

"MONTREAL — Bill Surkis, former Quebec regional director of B'nai Brith, downloaded close to nine hours of videos of men raping girls as young as six because he is curious by nature and likes to learn.

But Surkis, 71 and a grandfather, gave little thought to how his actions feed a booming child *advertiser censored* industry that sexually exploits young girls, a Crown prosecutor said Thursday during Surkis's sentencing hearing. As his wife looked on from the front row, Surkis told Quebec Court how the incident has ruined his life...."

I'm curious to know what it would be like to be a multi-millionaire- but, I'm not out there robbing banks to get the money. Not every itch should be scratched.

I have never seen child *advertiser censored*, nor do I want to.

But, I am pretty sure that I would be heartsick and repulsed by the very first image, and would be incapable of viewing more than a minute's worth.

I think the nine hours says it all. This man liked what he was seeing.

Smart Blonde--I've seen it and it can't ever be unseen. Thank your lucky stars that you never have. When it popped up in an email after our trial, I was speechless. I threw a towel over the computer screen and called the police. Within 10 minutes, the police chief and several officers were standing around my computer checking it out and sending it to the local FBI office. I felt physically sick. I stood behind them while they worked and even did a few things they asked. I didn't want to look but I couldn't help but look at the children. This was horrid stuff, most likely from Russia, I was told. I remember thinking, "Those are not street children. Those are well cared for, healthy toddlers." I have no doubt the abusers were the children's relatives.

I continued to receive similar emails (which I didn't open) and forwarded them all to the FBI. It finally stopped. However, about a month ago, I was researching a poster on myredbook for one of our threads. I was searching for other things he might have posted using his screen name. A whole list of things popped up and I clicked on "Vintage Knitting Patterns" as I'm a knitter and I was curious as to how this guy could be connected to knitting. Oh Lord. It was NOT knitting patterns. It was a portal and within ten seconds, there on my screen were hundreds of still shots of little boys with adult women. I picked up the phone and called a detective and he directed me to the High Tech Crimes Unit. I also alerted a mod and edited my most recent post as I didn't want others to follow me down that path. It is so awful and tawdry and the children look so absolutely miserable.

So, I've probably been exposed to 5 minutes of this nasty stuff and I still can't shake it. It's like seeing a murdered or horribly injured person or viewing torture. It haunts you.

Nine hours? The man is a pedophile, plain and simple. No doubt in my mind.

Cripes - what a narcissistic a-hole!! It's all about him & nothing about what *rape* feels like to a child? UH - I'm just nauseous thinking about how this 'thing' thinks he did nothing wrong! WTH has he been up to that's no good?

He should keep looking over his shoulder....I bet there's some folks who will have curiousity about what it feels like to put a beat down on a perverted sicko.

Who might that be?

I can't help myself. Let's look at this perv's list of sorrows:

"I destroyed my life and parts of my family's life."

Essentially he's sorry for:

1) Himself (for what he's "undergone")

2) His family (but only for "parts" of their lives)

3) His friends

4) His community

Aren't we missing someone in this list?

A "stellar" member of the community? Remember, he wants a computer in his home so he can continue to serve that community. He says that it would be "difficult" if he was on the registry. Has anyone asked his community if they really need his service any longer?
