NM NM - David Jacquez Ortiz, 18, Silver City, 31 Oct 2010

SILVER CITY, N.M. -- According the the Silver City Sun News, 18-year-old David Jacquez Ortiz Jr. has been reported missing and was last seen at his grandparents' home on Kimberly Drive on Oct. 31.

Ortiz's family told police he was on his way to his friend's house but never arrived, and the family called Silver City police to report him missing on Nov. 3.

Ortiz has a scar on his chest and was last seen wearing a blue long-sleeve sweater with a black T-shirt over it, black shorts, and brown steel-toed boots.

SILVER CITY - When David Ortiz Jr. waved goodbye to his grandmother on Oct. 31, all was right with the world in the Ortiz family.

Three days prior, he had won visitation rights to be with his 17-month-old son, Joshua. On Oct. 30, the day before his disappearance and less than a month before his 19th birthday, his mother, Elizabeth Ortiz, grabbed her cell phone and took a picture of her son and grandson together.

Halloween night will be the anniversary of the day that David Ortiz went missing back in 2010.

Silver City Police are still actively pursuing this case, and with the recent solving of a cold case file from 2006, there might be some light at the end of the tunnel in this case.
