Family fears woman dead
Was last seen entering red truck after leaving friend's house

Family and friends of a missing 20-year-old woman are worried she won't be coming home alive.

Amber Rose Marie Guiboche, 20, was last seen 11 days ago getting into a red truck near William Avenue and Isabel Street at about 11:45 p.m. Guiboche's best friend, Roxy Bruyere, said her friend was drunk at the time she went missing, and had been visiting at her house before taking off on foot to hail a cab and head back north to her boyfriend's College Avenue home.

Minutes later, another friend glimpsed Guiboche about 500 metres away, climbing into a red truck in a William Street back alley. She hasn't been heard from since.

Guiboche, 20, was last seen just before midnight on Nov. 10, drunk and getting into a red truck near William Avenue and Isabel Street.

Guiboche's family said the young woman had a high-risk lifestyle.

Roxy Bruyere, Guiboche's best friend, said Guiboche had been at her house late Wednesday night, and said that Guiboche was drunk at the time.

This is so sad.... I hope Amber is found soon.... She is not the first Guiboche female to go missing from Winnipeg. This is a little OT but I did some research last spring about missing Sylvia Ann Guiboche http://www.nampn.org/cases/guiboche_sylvia.html

I had thought perhaps someone harmed Sylvia after her child was born and submitted her as a possible parent for the 3-5 yr old unidentified child found Oct 2005 in DuPage Cty, IL - as the child is believed to be of Native descent and his mother was in the far north central area of the US or southern central Canada. There is a thread for DuPage Johnny doe in the unidentified section......

I pray this gal is not a relative of Sylvia's, I don't believe she is based on the little research I did.

Something has GOT to be done about the numbers of first nation females missing in the Winnipeg area. It is seriously out of control.....

Please be ok Amber and come home safely soon.
Prayers said for Ambers family, friends and those searching for her.

eta: I should add something needs to be done about the missing and murdered first nation females in the Winnipeg area... I was unfamiliar with how many have gone unsolved until I did the research on Sylvia last spring.

Questions based on the above article. Who were the two friends she went to visit uncle with? Does the uncle know these two or where they introduced to uncle through Amber?

Why did the friend Amber arrived with leave a few minutes prior to Amber leaving? Why didn't they leave together and why didn't he make sure he got her home safely knowing she was drunk? Was he also intoxicated?

Are there any leads on who the owner of the red pick up truck may be?

Please come home safely Amber. We're praying for your safe return.

The mother of a murdered girl said she's praying for another family worried about their loved one's disappearance.

Gwen Wilson lost her daughter Hillary Angel Wilson in August 2009, when her body was discovered near the north Perimeter Highway and Highway 59. Wilson said Thursday she feels for the family of 20-year-old Amber Guiboche, another missing Winnipeg woman. Guiboche was last seen climbing into a red truck 16 days ago at an alley near Isabel Street and William Avenue.

There is a serial killer here in Canada.

Guiboche's best friend, Roxy Bruyere, said her friend was drunk at the time she went missing, and had been visiting at her house before taking off on foot to hail a cab and head back north to her boyfriend's College Avenue home.

<snip>

On her leg she has a tattoo with the name of her formerly close friend and late cousin Fonassa Bruyere, a sexually exploited youth who was last seen getting into a green two-door truck on Aikins Street in August 2007. Her body was found three weeks later near Ritchie Street and Mollard Road in northwest Winnipeg, leading police to call her death a homicide.

<snip>

My words- article goes on to say Amber's family says she has a high risk lifestyle but had stopped running away. They were concerned about the area of town, not a good place for a girl to be. Police didn't directly say Amber is a in the sex trade, but she was seen getting into a vehicle (in an area where girls work the street) and that though her life is erratic she does generally call, so they are concerned.

Very sad.
I hope she is okay out there somewhere.

bumping for Amber.

No new MSM since 12-3-10

Praying she is found soon and safely.

Amber you are not forgotten.
