This unidentified woman was found in August of 1994, although it was likely that she died in 1991. She was found in an abandoned farmhouse in Cottreville Twp., St. Clare County. She had been shot at least twice, one of the shots being to her head.
She had likely suffered from hyperparathyroidism, which could have caused her weakness, fatigue and intestinal or urinary tract problems. She had discolored teeth with white spots. These spots can be caused by tetracycline (antibiotic) usage in children. She had little to no dental care since she was a child and didn't take good care of her teeth. Her upper front teeth may have been prominent.
She was between 30-50, 5'2-5'6 tall, no weight estimate. She had short to medium length brown hair.
There is no Namus listing and the contact info and NCIC number on Doe are wrong.
The number for the St. Clair County Sheriff is 618-277-3505, and I do not have a case number for her, but the one on doe is a M- number, so it is a missing persons number not an unidentified, since they start with U-.

A long time ago, I submitted her as a match to Susan Zaharias. She abducted her two kids from Santa Ana, CA in 1987, known to have family in MI and the in the Myspace page that the kids' father made for them, about her, her teeth appear very discolored. She is within the height range and there is no weight range. Her hair is listed as blond, but looks more brown to me. I know that she is an abductor, not technically a missing person, but there were some connections.

I never heard back and I hate to pursue it. If it is her, where are the kids?

* Her age (38) is right in the middle of the UID's age estimate (30 - 50 yrs)
* Her height (5'3") is right in the middle of the estimate (5'2" to 5'6")
* Her DLC (Aug'93) is about 1 year prior to the discovery of the remains (Aug'94).
* Her hair color and hairstyle are spot-on to the reconstruction.
* Her facial shape is spot-on to the facial reconstruction.
* Although the descriptions of their physical ailments are different, they seemed to be in poor physical shape.
* She is not on the NamUs exclusions list (Nelda Hardwick is the only name listed as of the time of this post)

The only apparent weakness here is distance. Although both she and the UID are from Michigan, she was from the Upper Peninsula (i.e., about 575 miles from Cottrellville Township, which is in the Detroit area)

It certainly looks possible! JP had undergone surgery to repair a ruptured disc and from this medical account, it doesn't seem to be a surgery that uses prosthetics (steel or plastic elements) that would have been found on the UID:

I see in the MP report that some speculated the footprints had been planted to mislead LE, but JP wore a size 7 women's shoe and I doubt most men could wear that size, let alone wear shoes that small while walking across a creek and then three or four miles along a logging trail just for the sake of misleading LE. Just my two cents. Wearing uncomfortably tight and possibly soaked shoes that far would be excruciating!

Circumstances updated yesterday on Doe Network.

Case History:

In August 1994, police were led to the remains of an adult female in an abandoned farmhouse in Cottrellville Township in St. Clair County, MI. The remains had probably been at the site for 1 to 3 years. The woman had been shot at least twice, once to the head. She was only wearing female panties.

Very limited information for Pamela Sue Dalton. I am trying to find another photo to see if that is a "gap" in her front tooth, or just an anomaly. I do notice that she may be too heavy by the estimated weight for the UID however.

Carlk, I know you brought up Rose Marie West in regards to another UID. I cant get a good read on her face due to the blurry photo and my limited skill in that area. What do you think?

Pros: 46 yrs of age (within range); Height/weight (within range); Missing Date: September 17 1991 (within range)
Cons: Red Hair (I don't see it (looks awfully dark IMHO), but it may be the photo quality); Dental Info available but no chart to compare on Namus; lack of other info....

Both have similar face shapes. On PSD, I don't see as much cheekbone, but that could be just the camera angle. Her teeth do look gapped to me, and not just a photographic anomaly, and although her teeth are noticeable due to the gap, I wouldn't describe them as "prominent".

RMW looks pretty close. Despite the limited info on her, she might be worth a look.

All of our possibles have terrible photo quality. I wish I could get a better look at their teeth to see if they have the white patches on the teeth. From what I can see, it looks like RMW might have discolored teeth, but then again, it could just be the poor photo quality.

I had the same condition with white patches on my teeth (as is described of the UID) when I was a teenager, but I don't think it was from taking Tetracycline. I don't know what caused it. I had veneers done on my front teeth to cover it up.

Thanks Carl, much appreciated. If I can dig up anymore on RMW, I will certainly let you know.

Regarding the teeth, I too had white patches as a teen...most of the men from my mothers side had the same issue. I was simply instructed to not use toothpaste with added fluoride and it went away. We had well water so there wasn't any added fluoride there; not sure if where you grew up in California did add it or not (assuming you were hooked up to city water)...but maybe that and the toothpaste was what caused the issue for you.

I could be way off here, but after looking at the does dental records in NAMUS, she had 5, 12, 21, 28 extracted. Judging by photos of the skull, I think this woman had braces at some point and thoes teeth were extracted to make room. I also think that it is quite possible the white spots that were noted are actually where the brackets used to be. Alot of people who had braces present with white spots where the tooth had stained, but the spot where the bracket was is still white, as it was protected. My dad is a dentist, and I was his assisstant for years. Just a thought.

I actually think the doe is similiar to Tammy Niver. She went missing a year earlier, and from nearby.

I took a look at this one again and they have 8 rule outs, none of whom are from Michigan:

Nelda Hardwick 1959 Louisiana
Gladys Kidd 1919 Kentucky
Frances Kiefer 1949 Pennsylvania
Hazel Klug 1962 Virginia
Tricia Reitler 1974 Indiana
Patricia Schmidt 1964 Virginia
Nadine Timm 1935 Illinois
Rose West 1944 Kentucky

then it dawned on me that this woman probably will never be identified. the reason I say that is because they only identifiers they have for the UID are dentals and per the dental description at Doe it says "She had probably received none or very little dental care since childhood". so if that is the case, then she would not have been to a dentist and thus no dental records to compare.

The hyperthyroidism is evident in the lower-right photo.

So awesome to knock an UID of the list for Michigan. My heart goes out to the family.

I am really glad Diann has her name back.

But I am curious is Diann likely to have died in 1988 rather than 1991 then? Also her body found in a out of a way area?

That is interesting, no comment. I wonder if she had any children?

I would sincerely like to thank this site and all the people on here for caring and trying to help identify everyone on here... Diann Tatum is my sister. My family finally has some closure with her being identified and returned to her family. I can clear up some if the questions here you all had... Diann had braces as a teenager she wore them for many years. The last time my family seen her alive was September 1988. She had three very young children, that are now grown with children of their own. Yes her husband's reaction to her remains being Identified was interesting, yet expected by my family.... As of now the case is still being investigated but its been 26 years, some of us are hopeful that we will get full closure, others are not as hopeful. No matter what we are glad she is back with us, it was not be the way we wanted her found; but found none the less.... This site is a blessing to many families, as are the people on here.
