==============

The last person known to have spoken to her is her boyfriend, who says he also talked to her on the phone later that evening as she was on her way home.

A missing person's report was filed on Sept. 29 when she did not return home and after she could not be reached by phone after numerous attempts.

Somehow I get the feeling that LMPD don't take missing persons cases seriously. JMO.

Police create online database for missing persons, cold cases

Five decades and hundreds of families desperate for answers.

Now, the Louisville Metro Police Department's cold case unit is hoping to use technology to provide closure to some of those families who have spent years, even decades wondering.

"They always want to know what the status on their loved ones' case is," said Burbrink.

Beverly Steitz and her husband, Jim Steitz, have made those calls for the past four years

"I called him last month," said Beverly Steitz.

Their only daughter, Debbie Lucas, disappeared without a trace in September 2010.

6 years after Louisville mother vanished, family still looking for answers

http://www.wistv.com/story/33219389/6-years-after-louisville-mother-vanished-family-still-looking-for-answers

A somber rainy day in September proved fitting for a Louisville family marking the six-year anniversary of the day their loved one, a mother of four, went missing from her neighborhood near Churchill Downs.

"It has been six years now and no word, nothing," Beverly Steitz, mother of then-48-year-old Debbie Lucas said.

Other than a few early leads, the case involving Lucas is cold. The problem was, when Lucas disappeared, hardly anyone was talking.

Six years later, her family hopes someone who knew something has had a change of heart.
