MOUNT LAUREL Local authorities say a third woman has been tricked into wiring money overseas during the holidays in a scam that takes advantage of what is for many people a special relationship: family.
And it appears that "The Grandparent Scam" is getting better as, ironically, it gets older. First uncovered by authorities in the spring, the scam works by getting victims to unwittingly wire thousands of dollars overseas believing they are helping a grandchild in trouble. These aren't grandkids, but con artists who've marked the victims as easy prey.
