Shana Carter, 25, has been missing from Grimsby, Ont., since Dec. 5.

Her mother said the disappearance is very out of character for Shana, who has a young son.

"I had talked to her about a week before she disappeared," said Elizabeth Carter. "She was looking for some ideas for Christmas crafts to make with her son, things that we used to make when she was little and she wanted to, because just starting out she didn't have a whole lot of stuff and she wanted him to make some memories for the Christmas tree."

Niagara Regional Police say Shana Carter was last seen on Saturday, December 4th; at about 10:30 at night, when she left her home on Arrowhead Road.

Shana has a mixed-raced background, she's about five-foot-seven and 159 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Shana was wearing a black hooded track-suit, a black coat and black running shoes.

missing since Dec. 4th, which means she missed Christmas with her son and there's been no cell or banking activity ...

I want to know where she was going at 10:30 at night - was she going to work in a strip club and how was she getting to wherever she was going ...

who was babysitting and what can they share about where she was going or who she was meeting ...

Did Shana have a roommate?

Did someone come in to care for her child when she left at 10:30pm at night?
Where was she working?
What was her usual day like?
Who cared for her child before her mom reported her missing?
The news say she was last seen in front of her house?
Did someone pick her up?
There needs to be more information out there.

Comments on the news article seem to speak about the abduction into sex slavery trade, but friends who posted say, no.

No leads in missing person case

Police continue to appeal for any information from the public in the search for Grimsby woman Shana Carter.

[snip]

“It’s still an open missing person case,” said Det. Sgt. Dan Nadeau, with Niagara Regional Police. “We really have no update to report. There is no plan of investigative action, no search plans. We are just waiting on information to come through from the public.”

The family of Shana has reached out to us to see if we can get some more information out there on her case.

This story hits me right at the heart-disappearing into thin air and disappearing from the life of her young child.

from your article, She:
Shana Carter was last seen leaving her boyfriend’s house in Grimsby on Dec. 4 at about 10:30 p.m.

Any locals know if this alone is a viable lead?

Thanks for the bump on this thread. I haven't heard of this case. There is really very little in the news about this missing woman. Why?

The fb page says she has a tattoo on her wrist the says "Leroy". In the past week I remember seeing a UID with a "Leroy" tattoo. I just tried to find it again but am unable to.

Insatiable, do you know if the UID was in Canada???

I believe it was on namus or doenetwork, those are the two places I was looking up something else last week. I wasn't searching an area just a description but now I don't remember what I was looking up. I searched Leroy tattoo on namus when i seen this but nothing came up. I don't know if the Leroy tattoo I saw was on the wrist or not. I wish I could find it again it's really bugging me now.

Posting this here just in case, even though Shana doesn't appear to have any connection to Laval, QC.

Laval police find woman's body encased in snowbank
Officials set up tent, heater to thaw out remains
By Monique Muise, The Gazette March 28, 2011

It remains unclear how the victim may have died, Lorrain added. Investigators believe the victim was in her late 20s or early 30s.

"We can also see she was a black woman," Lorrain said. "The body is face-down, so we can't see the front of the (torso) or the face."

The body is clothed, and there are no visible marks of violence, she said.

Laval police have checked their records, but no one matching the woman's description has been reported missing in the past few months. Lorrain said they are now checking with other police forces, including the Montreal police, to see if they might have a match.

Found this blog, which shows the Leroy tattoo (on Shana's wrist)

Site quotes Websleuths, and says that we got the address wrong...not Arrowhead Rd, but Arrowhead Lane (?)

I might as well post the image of the tattoo here:

Regarding the rude comments on the psychic's link( provided by Hazel)made me wonder if the terrible grammar and spelling was a way for someone to appear to be someone and something other- than who they really are.Friends and family would usually be appreciative of any help in finding a loved one...

She's very pretty; I hope they find her soon. Her Friends & family need closure

Nothing really new to this article, I was surprised to see it posted just an hour ago.Maybe something is up?
