Oh God... just awful. We were at Sea World last summer with out kids... :no:... but it seems this wasn't a stranger but someone that was with the mom, her BF, and the toddler.

Fla. police: Toddler raped at SeaWorld

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida authorities say a 26-year-old man raped a 2-year-old girl at SeaWorld Orlando and saved pictures of the crime on his cell phone, local media reported Friday.

Michael Grzybowicz of Cocoa Beach, Fla., has been held without bail in the Brevard County Jail since Saturday, Orange County sheriff's deputies said.

Grzybowicz is accused of raping the child on Feb. 17 after her mother had asked him to briefly watch the toddler inside the theme park, according to Orlando TV station WESH.

Reading the details of this case reminds me of the level of grooming that pedophiles employ to get to their victims. This man accompanied the parents and the child to the park and was left for 10 minutes with the child while the parents went on a ride. She was sitting in her stroller. He took photos of the attack with his own cell phone and sent them to an email account of his it seems.

I wonder if the child disclosed. She's so young. Or was there obvious physical injury? Bless her heart. My heart goes out to the parents as I cannot fault them one bit. They must be reeling. Ten minutes, in broad daylight, with parents and other families near by. This man is a true predator:

"....Cocoa police are investigating the possible molestation by Grzybowicz of another child unrelated to the toddler and the incident at Sea World...."

Possibly they found other photos.

The guy must have shown off the photos or a family member or friend found them. Thank goodness they called LE. Sadly, this cannot be his only victim.

Interesting that a young male relative has some "spy glasses" on his wish list. They must be out of stock but the others that come up when you search have hidden micro-cameras in them. That's a bit worrisome.

I wondered about that at first. Also how could he hold the child down, commit the rape and take pics all at the same time.

I think it may come down to the type of rape. It might have been digital. Digital in this case doesn't mean virtual, it means manual, as with fingers.

Sea World is full of a bunch of screaming kids. Like mysteriew explained it would depend on exactly what happened.

They strike like wildfire these lousey creeps. It takes but minutes.

This is how messed up they are. Poor impulse control. had the prescence of mind to take photographs of himself hurting this poor baby.

That's awful... When we were there - and I was at Sea World from 9 to 7 with two children by myself, until DH arrived after his conference - I watched them like a hawk and didn't let them out of my site for a second. When I took DD to the restroom, I made DS come in with us, etc. I had heard what an attraction Orlando is for pedophiles... :no:

This is how messed up they are. Poor impulse control. had the prescence of mind to take photographs of himself hurting this poor baby.

Sea World also has a lot of landscaping to look "natural" (as natural as it can in Orlando...) and so there are plenty of more private nooks and crannies and little wooded areas, paths, etc, in certain places.

Also, I'm confused by the term 'rape' if it was digital, kwim? But it was a finger, then that could be accomplished with passersby thinking he was changing her diaper or something.

This is just too sick. This poor child. What a short but terrifying experience, just the type of thing that throws your whole world out of whack. One minute she is having the greatest time ever, being at an amusement park, seeing the cool animals, then a split second later, she is being assaulted by a 'trusted' adult. Even though she is very young, it was filed away in her memory bank, and I hope her parents keep her in proper treatment as she grows up. She is perhaps going to be confused or anxious and feel mixed messages around social events and family friends for many years. I hope they don't assume she has forgotten it or gotten over it.

And I hope he goes away for a very very long time and takes some of his e-mail contacts down with him.

The article I first read said that they had all been at Sea World together that day - the perp, the mom, the BF, and the little girl.

I want to know about this other child, too... How would he get access to yet someone else's child, kwim? (ETA: I see that it was not related to that incident at Sea World so it must have been another time/another place...).

I would like to know what the sequence of events was from the time the parents returned from going on the ride, until the phone was checked.

It seems to me as well that their child would have been screaming and crying when they returned. Sometimes that screaming and crying goes on and on when a child is very uncomfortable. Did the parents then take the child to the First Aid station? Did the parents try to change the child's pull-ups or diaper? Or was it only after they returned home that the parents noticed something not right?
