LOS ANGELES – Jane Russell, the brunette who was discovered by Howard Hughes and went on to become one of the biggest stars of the 1940s and '50s, has died at age 89.

I'll always remember Jane Russell... I remember when I was little, I asked my dad who his favorite actress was... he replied, "Jane Russell... she's beautiful! I always thought so..."

RIP Jane, know that you were at least one boy's fantasy...

RIP Jane. You were a class act. Not only a wonderful actress, but a real movie star.

Badhorsie, thanks for posting that clip. I haven't seen it in ages. "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes is one of my very favorite movies from the 1950's. I used to sing and act out all the musical numbers when I was a kid.

I loved watching her musicals as a kid.

Absolutely a class act...

I do believe it was due to her the phrase, full figured woman came to be...JMHO
