P.'s body was not found among the rubble of her small, modest frame home that burned completely to the ground Thursday afternoon and triggered a 30-acre pasture fire north of her home, pushed by strong southerly winds. The fire also burned her early 1960s Chevy II that was adjacent to the home.

A one-time teacher described as an eccentric who lived alone, P. was known to not have gone anywhere without her car, though apparently her car – which she reportedly bought new and continued to drive – had become inoperable in recent days.

A neighbor, Earlene Davidson, said P. walked to her church, Whitt Assembly of God, last Sunday – not a short walk.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of P. is asked to call the Parker County Sheriff’s Office at (817) 594-8845.

“I’m at a loss,” said Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler in front of what, before Thursday, was the home of L. M. P., 62, in the 400 block of Old Oran Road.

It's interesting that Shonda's phone pinged close to this home. Wonder if the 2 could be related?

I too have wondered if they are related. A kid named on the blog, shares the same last name, though it is a common name. There was also a dock fire earlier the prior week. I think any of it could be tied in but you never know.

Still missing as of this morning :( Something doesn't seem right especially around the same time the fire has heated up in the Shonda investigation.

What in the world is going on out there, now down the road in this very rural area, this happens...

From what I've seen following the Krishonda Townsend case, Mineral Wells is a cesspool! Lots of drugs and general craziness. I doubt Ms. P. was involved in any of that nonsense, but there seem to be a lot of shady characters in the area.

I wish there was more news - particularly if there is any chance this is connected to Shonda's case.

Did you read the comments after the latest case?

That's what I mean!

There are lots of people that believe many, many citizens of Mineral Wells know who harmed Shonda and where she is, but won't "snitch."

It's a sad state of affairs when people protect murderers. Regardless of the circumstances.

Ms. P. has been described as "eccentric," so maybe she's just gone off somewhere. But I doubt it.

It is looking very likely that this missing woman is related to a person who has been named as a POI by a girl who was very close to a person last seen with Shonda. There is something to this. You all are not off on it.

From your link:

The station's website said a report released by the Parker County Sheriff's Office said the 62-year-old woman was abducted at gunpoint 13 days ago in Parker County and was held against her will, kept bound, restrained and repeatedly assaulted. The woman's rural Parker County house burned to the ground two days after her disappearance, the report said.

The report said the woman was treated for her injuries at a hospital and is now being kept in an undisclosed location under guard.

Parker County woman found after being held captive

A Parker County woman who was reported missing when her home burned to the ground on March 3 was found alive this weekend after being held captive for 13 days, a statement from the sheriff's office said.

The 62-year-old had been kidnapped at gunpoint from her residence in a rural area near Perrin, investigators said.

She was taken 100 miles away and was kept bound, restrained and repeatedly assaulted, the sheriff's office statement said. News 8 has elected not to use the victim's name to protect her privacy.

They are not releasing her name, but her age, the date, and the other details match.

The woman missing in Whitt since her home burned to the ground March 3 was found in Corsicana over the weekend and rescued from her abductor.

Parker County Sheriff's Office officials said L. P., 62, was kidnapped at gunpoint from her home March 1 by Jeffrey Allan Maxwell, 58, of Corsicana, identified as a former resident of the Whitt area.

Officials said P. was taken to Maxwell's home in Corsicana where she was restrained and repeatedly assaulted. After her rescue, P. was taken to a medical facility for treatment of multiple injuries and was released and is being held at an undisclosed location under protective custody.
