Marcal Camero Tye — found dead early Tuesday near a rural highway outside of Forrest City, Ark. — appeared to have been shot in the head and then dragged by a car, according to WREG tv station out of Memphis.

Some media outlets are describing Marcal as "a man in a dress," but others are describing her as a "transgendered woman." Her cousin theorizes that she was killed because someone picked her up and "noticed that he was a dude," so I think Marcal was living as a woman but hadn't gotten an operation to become one physically. I'm bringing it up partly because it might have to do with motive but also because looking for updates might be easier knowing that the body will be described as a man in some and as a woman in others.

The St. Francis County Sheriff's Office says they do not have any new leads in the murder investigation of a transgender person...

Sheriff May also says the tracks and DNA revealed nothing. He adds they now have a profile of the killer, and that the man likely is between 25 and 50, married and a resident of Forrest City.

Sheriff May believes the two had an ongoing sexual relationship and Tye got into the car willingly. Then he says that with Tye in front of the vehicle, the killer ran over her fleeing the scene.
