One suspect, Chris Lopez, admitted he was the one who burned the little girl, saying he was high on meth when he gave her a bath in scalding water

OMG! These disgusting people, WHY WHY WHy??

Rodriguez is the child's custodial parent, and Vazquez is her boyfriend. She admitted the baby was in excruciating pain, to the point that she would bang her head agaisnt things and grind her teeth -- and she hadn't been eating very much.

This is going to make me cry :( This poor little angel, I can't even imagine her pain.

I'm ok with the mom knowing she didn't have the resources (or strength, or maybe emotional strength ) to raise children, especially in light of her own childhood.

I don't get though, how she could hand those two babies off to the woman who abused her. And how the grandma could leave the children with drug addicts and "go away" for a day or two.

That kpho article not only describes the allegations of abuse the children were said to suffer, the mother of the little girl talks about her own abuse at the hands of her mother Rodriguez.

They are horrific details that Buelna cannot bear to think about. "She's in better hands now," she said. "And I didn't know whether she was or not, with my mother."
Buelna then says she, too, was abused by her mother as a child. She describes being beaten with a metal broomstick. Her head bears the scars of old trauma. Those scars will likely become evidence in the case against Juanita. Police asked Buelna to shave her head so they could take photos.

But again, the mother of the children didn't speak against her mother becoming a foster parent for her kids. She wanted to "trust her."
Those poor kids.

A rock and a hard place.

Bio mom had three choices:
1. Keep them, when she knew she couldnt, for whatever reason.
2. Surrender them to foster care, and we all know what happens in foster care.
3. Surrender them to her mother, who she hoped (and likely prayed and begged God) that she could trust.

Bio mom is the one that will have to live with the knowledge that she chose wrong.

Mom claims her mother (kid's grandma) beat her with a broomstick when she was a child. Supposedly she has scars to prove it to this day. Then she says she wanted to trust the grandma to raise this kid? I guess poor kid never had a chance.

And what were the other choices? Just as bad.

Well, if you ask me, birth control would have been the best choice.
But considering the kids were living with grandma, did the bio mom visit them to check how grandma is raising them?

Another case where neighbors heard sounds of abuse, but did they do anything about it?
