MA - Nicole Garcia, 3, dies during 'exorcism', Nantucket, March 2011 *Insanity*

    RIP Nicole

Dora Tejada allegedly shoved her fist into the toddler's mouth, believing it to be a rose that would exorcise the "devil" inside her, according to court documents. Rose pedals were found on the floor in the home.

What I don't understand is why the sister in law left her alone with the children?

She continues to be held in a mental institute with no bond!

Rest in peace, Nicole. You didn't deserve this. If only your family called for help. It's obvious this woman was extremely mentally ill. If only she would have been hospitalized, this would likely have been prevented.

Poor little doll. What a horrible way to die and at the hands of your own mommy.

Obviously this woman is mentally ill.

Moreno it almost sounds like the sister-in-law was a little afraid of her perhaps?

    RIP Nicole

    From May 2013:

At the height of a psychotic episode in which she claimed to have become convinced her daughter was possessed by the devil, Dora Tejada suffocated and killed 3-year-old Nicole Garcia inside their home on Nantucket in 2011.

On Wednesday, Tejada, an island housecleaner originally from El Salvador, was found not guilty of second-degree murder in Nantucket Superior Court after a judge determined she was not criminally responsible, due to mental illness, for the girl's death...

Tejada's continued incarceration will depend upon the evaluation of her mental health by doctors at the Taunton State Hospital... Thibeault said it is unclear whether the Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office will seek to keep her in custody at the state facility by opposing her release.
