Child *advertiser censored* Case Involving X-Box Live

There's definitely something about that Xbox.

I thought there was no Internet at BDs? Don't you need that and wi-fi for this???

Well we only have BD stating there was no internet in that home.. So I take that almost as a "Yes we definitely had internet at our house"..because she is as black/white when it comes to lies/truth..lol.

But seriously many of us do wonder if there not infact some type of internet signal, wi-fi, etc for all the devices they had in that home and for their hobbies to be so internet related..jmo, tho!

You need to either have wifi or a cord that connects to your computer in order to play x-box live with others that are online. Scary stuff.....

Yes, you either need a cord or a wireless router. Because of that, we wouldn't let our boys get one. The cord would have to be inconveniently long to reach the TV, and we don't have a router.

I don't really see the X-Box as the avenue for the *advertiser censored* since we know that SA had access to computers and cameras at the homes of family members.

The X-Box could just be a red herring, since the hidden flash drive actually contained the *advertiser censored*.

You can plug a flash drive in and and use an xbox like a CD player as well. LE did take the xbox and are not returning it. I thought it was nice that LE chipped in and bought DD a new one. Wasn't it stated that every electronic device checked out had *advertiser censored* on it? Wouldn't that include the xbox? Of course we don't know what kind of *advertiser censored* was found.

IMO, BD had and still has internet. It would be exactly something she would lie about.

Just because Billie said they didn't have internet at the time doesn't mean that they didn't have it in the past. LE did say that *advertiser censored* had been found on every device connected to SA, but didn't say specifically that included the xbox. If he'd watched the cd containing *advertiser censored* on the xbox would it somehow leave a trail?

I'm going to have to look back, because I thought I remembered "no computer", as opposed to "no internet". Maybe it was both.

If someone else knows or can find it first, great... because I don't know when I will have a chance to search.

They probably had Internet connectivity - they were just "stealing" it from their neighbors by connecting to their wifi (wireless) connections. Unfortunately many, many people in neighborhoods do not know how to secure their wireless networks and/or use default setting on wireless routers which are widely known based on the brand you have (i.e. Linksys admin password is always XXXXXXX).

Another lie, but again to cover up some ongoing impropriety. MOO

Just my opinion, but I'm just not sure how they would prove that SA looked at a flash-key with *advertiser censored* on the X-Box, or why they would need to prove that since they have a computer with possibly the exact same *advertiser censored* on it? I'm not sure if the memory of an X-Box works exactly like a computer.

I thought they took the X-Box from the home to check the times that Hailey was playing on her account, to check it against SA's timeline? :waitasec: They took it to see if there was data about her gaming activity, since that might be different from what BD was saying about the night before.

Having said that, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they were stealing a wireless connection from neighbors.

Exactly what I was going to say. People "steal, bum, borrow" Internet from their neighbors, local businesses all the time.

Just as you would at Starbucks, McDonald's or Barnes and Noble.(although of course they advertise it's FREE)

I think Billie was telling people that she didn't have a computer versus access to to the internet. I will help look this up. There are many interview transcripts on http://casesignal.wordpress.com/ as well as on here.

When Bee interviewed Billie on Blogtalkradio, she asked Billie to turn down her computer because of interference and Billie replied that she didn't have a computer.

I need to find earlier quotes maybe with Nancy Grace where Billie claims they don't have a computer specifically. I think with Billie (she's a bit like a tricky guy who can find loopholes out of situations) you have to ask her the right question to get the full answer. Interviewers need to ask her if she has internet access from her home versus having a computer.

From Jan 4th interview with Nancy Grace, this is a week after Hailey disappeared:

GRACE: So police have taken your two disposable cell phones, they have also taken — you have a computer at home?

BILLIE: No
.

GRACE: So have they looked at her Facebook account?

BILLIE: They say they are looking into her Facebook. She did have a Facebook account.

Well one of two posibilities - she is lying again OR they had already taken their computers into cutody at that point so a reply of "no" may actually be truthful at that exact point in time. (Had they taken the computers before Jan 4?).

It also depends on what you consider a "computer". Now most people don't think of an XBox as a computer yet it does have a hard drive JUST LIKE a PC/laptop. Someone had asked this a few posts ago.

It could be as the original poster alluded to - a way for him to groom/recruit young girls in the XBox Live chat where you can trade pics, etc.

Consider this: http://www.annarbor.com/news/warran...to-entice-girls-he-met-on-xbox-live-into-sex/

Okay, I'm going to bow out of this discussion because I've stated my opinion that the X-Box might not be that significant except with the timeline.

First, I'm not convinced they found evidence of *advertiser censored* or chats with other girls on the X-Box. I think we would know that by now if they had. They said "all electronic devices" but there are so many in this case, and LE hasn't been too precise in the past, so I'm not sure I believe the X-Box was included in that.

Second, while I believe SA is possibly a child molestor/pornographer, I'm more worried about what he did to Hailey in that house than any chat he had over the internet with another kid who is probably still alive.

The cameras worry me more than the X-Box.

SA already had an extensive *advertiser censored* collection. He might have tried to show it to Hailey over the X-box, but we don't know that. She might have seen it by accident while he was looking at it - I just don't know. There are alot of scenarios.

But to me, since SA could go to his mother's house and use the computer whenver he liked, then it takes away some of the importance of the X-Box as a way to get online.

Keep in mind - the XBox can have a web cam connected to it as well...
