MO - Tiffany Price, 36, murdered at her Robertsville home, 17 March 2011

Franklin County prosecutors have charged a Robertsville man with first-degree murder and armed criminal action for allegedly shooting his wife to death.

The charges against Randy Price, 39, were filed Monday.

Authorities say he shot himself in the head with a 9 mm handgun at his home on Highway N on March 19.

When authorities responded to a call about the gunshot, they found the body of his wife, 36-year-old Tiffany Price, in an RV on the property. She had not been seen by her children since March 17.

The felony case of a Franklin County man accused of murdering his wife almost four years ago has been continued again. Randy O. Price, 42, has remained in the county jail in lieu of a $1 million bond since he was charged with the murder of Tiffany Price, 36...

The couple’s 14-year-old daughter told detectives that Randy Price told her and her siblings on Thursday, March 17, that Tiffany Price had gone away for the weekend. The girl said she sent text messages to her mother and received responses, but the mother would not answer her calls.

Deputies later located the mother’s cellphone in the house, according to reports. Investigators said Randy Price was responding to the daughter’s text messages.

Man Gets 25 Years for Wife’s Murder - Under Plea Agreement

Randy O. Price, 44, Robertsville, entered an Alford plea Tuesday to a charge of second-degree murder in the death of Tiffany Price, 36.

Under an Alford plea, a defendant does not admit guilt but concedes that authorities have enough evidence to convict him.

Circuit Judge Ike Lamke accepted the plea at Tuesday afternoon’s hearing and then sentenced Price to 25 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. Under the Alford plea, he cannot appeal the sentence.

A related armed criminal action charge against Price was dropped under the agreement.

Prosecuting Attorney Bob Parks said Price is required to serve 85 percent of the 25-year sentence before he is “eligible” for parole. That would be more than 21 years, the prosecutor said.
