"I don't know why people start these rumors," Fonda Ruffin said, adding that the false information was showing up on Facebook.
Robin Salaam - Fonda's sister - said the constant calls are putting additional stress on the missing woman's mother.

"It's taking her on an emotional high and then asking: ‘Is she alive? Is she hurt? Is she deceased?'" Salaam said. "It's just too much emotion at one time."
The family also worried about the time spent looking into bad information.
"They're interfering with the investigation," Salaam said. "This is not something to be played with. This is not a game. This is reality."

But the police said they are glad the public is coming forward.

SHe's a very pretty young girl! I pray that she is found safely!

Another young mother taken forcibly. Unbelievable. :furious:

I hope, given that she was taken from an apartment, that there are witnesses who saw the vehicle, the abductors, etc. It was 11:30 or so on a Saturday night, chances are good that there were folks up who might have seen, or maybe overheard something.

From the articles it sounds like LE is very on top of things. The family has said they've been very open with them, and always taking their calls. Hopefully this means a safe return for Nadirah soon.

Praying she is dropped off somewhere safe!!!!!

Dad said in the video that he thinks she knew something about a situation or some such, and that she probably knew her kidnapper(s).

There has to be some explanation why the perps took her and left the four others in the house, tied up, but otherwise unharmed. :waitasec:

Prayers that Nadirah is safe and will come home soon. :praying:

Police have provided no motive for the abduction, only witness recollections that one of the men said, "We're taking her to the Ville," believed to be a reference to Pleasantville.

Atlantic City Deputy Police Chief Ernest Jubilee said only that authorities have no reason to believe it was a case of mistaken identity or that the intruders had the wrong home.

They may be ruling out mistaken identity, but what is the basis to believe the intruders wanted Nadirah instead of the others? Just curious what their logic is, or what the investigation may have turned up that leads to this reasoning. :waitasec: MOO

Hundreds Gather To Pray, Plead For Safe Return of Nadirah

A few hundred people packed the Boys and Girls Club on Sunday afternoon to pray for the safe return of Nadirah Ruffin, the 19-year-old mother who was taken at gunpoint from a Back Maryland home March 26. Spiritual leaders and elected officials including Mayor Lorenzo Langford and state Sen. Jim Whelan spoke of their support for the family, and the need for the community to come together.

Community leaders, family members take search for abducted woman to Pleasantville

Armed with fliers and chanting in unison, a small army of community leaders and concerned family members of Nadirah Ruffin expanded their search for the missing 19-year-old mother to Pleasantville on Tuesday afternoon.

"The police are doing their part. The family is doing their part. It's time for the community to do its part," said Steven Young, of the National Action Network. "The prayers have all been said ... now we have to hit the streets - handing out fliers to businesses and hanging them throughout the streets - calling for Nadirah to be returned. She has a son at home and he wants to know where his mother is."

ATLANTIC CITY — If there’s one person who knows what the loved ones of Nadirah Ruffin are going through, it’s Sheila Thomas.

“When I saw the news, I had a flashback,” Thomas said. “I felt (Nadirah’s mother’s) every pain. I really did.”

Sheila Thomas’ daughter, Sierra, was last seen Nov. 21, 2002, in the city’s Back Maryland neighborhood. The then-19-year-old mother of 4-year-old and 2-year-old daughters was a former student at Atlantic City High School and had briefly worked in two resort hotels. Her nickname since she was a baby was “Sweetie.”

TWO FAMILIES SEARCH FOR LOST TEENS

Family and friends of two missing teens went on a quest for clues hoping for answers.

"Everything we do is to return her home to her son, her mother, and her loving family," said David Muhammad, Nadirah Ruffin's Great Uncle. He added, "Hopefully we'll be successful in finding both girls."
