ORLANDO, Fla. -- The man who found Caylee Anthony’s remains in December 2008 has been told to report to the Orange County Courthouse first thing Tuesday morning, his attorney told WESH 2 News.

Judge Belvin Perry ruled in January that the defense could not introduce any evidence on Kronk's prior bad acts.

The Case against Casey resumes a day after her attorneys sought a mistrial and a judge ruled she was competent to continue the trial.

Testimony resumes Tuesday morning, a day after Anthony's attorneys asked the judge to select a new jury. The attorneys sought the mistrial based on a ruling by a federal judge in Miami last week. It declared Florida's death penalty unconstitutional.

Attorney: Baez Wants Roy Kronk To Be In Court Tuesday
Judge has yet to rule on a new defense request for a mistrial
"Snip: Updated: 6:12 am EDT June 28, 2011

Casey Anthony's murder resumes on Tuesday, and one of the most highly anticipated witnesses (Roy Kronk) could take the stand, a day after attorneys sought a mistrial and a judge ruled that Casey was competent. Roy could be the first witness called.

WFTV’s legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said the defense could be trying to prevent Casey from testifying.

“It may well be that Casey Anthony believes that she should take this witness stand against her lawyers' advice,” said Sheaffer. “And the jury's not going to believe, if she says her name is Casey Anthony, they may ask her to see her birth certificate.”

Tuesday may be a contentious day in court if Kronk takes the stand. In his opening statement, Jose Baez painted Kronk as a shady character who tried to profit from the case by hiding Caylee’s body, so he could claim a reward.

WE DIDN'T really need the ratings-grabbing trial of Casey Anthony - the Orlando, Fla., woman accused of murdering her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, in 2008 - to tell us that the death of a child, any child, is a messy, emotional business.

We certainly didn't need HLN's Nancy Grace, whose zeal to see Anthony convicted may exceed even the prosecution's.

Day 30: Casey Anthony's family, man who found Caylee's remains testify
"Snip" By Jacqueline Fell, Adam Longo and Kelli Cook, Team Coverage
Last Updated: Tuesday, June 28, 2011 12:07 PM

ORLANDO -- The 30th day of Casey Anthony's murder trial has seen quick testimonies from some big key players, including both her parents, her brother and Roy Kronk the man who found the skeletal remains of Caylee.

Casey Anthony's defense continues to focus on the wooded area where Caylee's remains were found, calling the man who made the discovery to testify.

Day 30 AM witnesses

Joe Jordan
George Anthony
Cindy Anthony
Lee Anthony
Yuri Melich
Roy Kronk

Casey's brother, Lee Anthony immediately contradicted his mother's testimony, saying that Cindy told him that she sent Dominic Casey into the woods off Suburban Drive after she received a tip from a psychic.

Lee recalled being angry, because it was the first time anyone in the family had brought up looking for a dead body, rather than trying to find Caylee alive.

Again, Lee talked about feeling left out of the loop.

During cross-examination, prosecutor Frank George asked Lee if at that time, he was still "sold on his sister's lies." He smiled, looked over to the defense tabled and replied, "Yes and no." Lee was then excused, and went to sit back down next to his mother.

Kronk, Casey's Family Testify On Remains, AffairKronk Found Remains In December 2008

"Snip" June 28, 2011

The defense called Roy Kronk only about a half hour before the lunch recess. Kronk found Caylee's remains in December 2008 in the woods off of Suburban Drive.
George Anthony testified he did visit Holloway at her gated condominium, showing identification to the complex guard, "to console" her after she told him that she had a brain tumor and was dying. He said because she was helping him and his family search for Caylee after she disappeared, he felt it "was the least I could do."

He said his wife -- Casey Anthony's mother, Cindy Anthony -- was aware he visited Holloway and had also been told about her brain tumor. He said he always visited during the day, as he could set his own hours at his job.
Jurors also heard from Joseph Jordan, a volunteer who searched the area near where the remains were found in late August and early September.

Ask The Judge: Announcing Verdict, Witnesses
Judge O.H. Eaton Jr., WESH Legal Analyst

"Snip" POSTED: 9:55 am EDT June 28, 2011

(Q) Expert Testimony
Dear Judge Eaton: As an expert witness, Dr. Kenneth Furton was using research that one of his students did and that he did not participate in. Why isn’t this hearsay evidence?

(A)
Expert witnesses are allowed to rely upon the work of others in order to express their opinion. For instance, a medical examiner can rely upon a toxicology report in forming an opinion as to the cause of death of a person. I can’t answer your question about intellectual property and copyrights. I know very little about that area of the law. -- Judge O.H. Eaton

(Q) Announcing The Verdict
Dear Judge Eaton: If the jury does go into deliberations on a Friday or Saturday and comes up with a verdict over the weekend (or even a weekday evening) would they pull them back into the courtroom right away or would they set a specific date and time for the lawyers, family members, media to get back to the courtroom for the verdict, or would they do it immediately? -- N. Johnson

It is not unusual for the jury to reach a verdict at a time when court is not in session. In that event, the court clerk seals the verdict in an envelope and delivers it to the judge when the court reconvenes with the jury present. -- Judge O.H. Eaton

Kronk Called To Testify In Casey Anthony Murder Trial

The Casey Anthony murder trial enters day 30.

WATCH LIVE: Anthony Murder Trial http://www.clickorlando.com/news/28373676/detail.html

"Snip" UPDATED: 12:21 pm EDT June 28, 2011

During opening statements, Casey Anthony's defense team accused Kronk of somehow obtaining Caylee's remains and planting them in the woods to obtain a reward. Lead defense attorney Jose Baez described Kronk as "morally bankrupt."

Defense attorney Cheney Mason asked Kronk if he read meters on Hopespring and Suburban drives on Aug. 11, 2008. Kronk said he and two co-workers were assigned to that area that day.

Kronk said that on that date, he was aware of Caylee's disappearance, but did not follow the case, nor did he know that the Anthony family lived in the area.

Mason asked Kronk about his walking into the woods to relieve himself. Kronk said he walked into the woods and came straight out and that nothing notable happened that day.

When pressed by Mason, Kronk said he did see an object that appeared odd to him in the woods. Kronk said he never came within 30 feet of the object.

He said he and his co-workers found a dead rattlesnake, which took up the rest of their time that afternoon.

Mason asked Kronk if he told his co-worker he saw a skull. Kronk said he did not at that time. He said he told his co-worker he saw something odd, but they were distracted by the dead rattlesnake, which they then took back to the office.

Kronk: Left Bones Untouched, Tried To Do "The Right Thing"

"Snip" Updated: 5:20 pm EDT June 28, 2011

The meter reader who found Caylee Anthony's remains testified that he didn't touch the bag containing Caylee's bones after he spotted it in the woods.

Nearly every member of the jury could be seen taking notes while Kronk testified.

"He doesn't come across as ghoulish, he comes across as a Good Samaritan who's gotten caught up in this case and is now being trashed by the defense," said WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer.

Sheaffer said the jury could believe Cindy had inside knowledge of where Caylee's remains were, which could be bad for Casey.
Cindy told the defense today that she never sent private investigators to search for Caylee along Suburban Drive.

Lee Anthony was called to the stand and contradicted what his mother said. Lee stated that Cindy did send two private investigators to the wooded area to search for Caylee's remains, after a psychic's advice.

The defense called Jesse Grund, to the stand after the jury left.

The defense wanted the jury to hear Grund say, "She woke up one night with Lee standing over her in bed, staring at her sleeping and another instance was groping her in the middle of the night."

Judge Perry said it was inadmissible.

Roy Kronk Testifies About Finding Caylee Anthony's Remains
Casey Anthony, 25, Could Face Death Penalty If Convicted

POSTED: Tuesday, June 28, 2011
UPDATED: 5:18 pm EDT June 28, 2011

During opening statements, Anthony's defense team accused Kronk of somehow obtaining Caylee's remains and planting them in the woods to obtain a reward. Lead defense attorney Jose Baez described Kronk as "morally bankrupt."

The defense implied that because Kronk's truck needed $1,000 in repairs on Dec. 10, he decided to report finding Caylee's remains the next day in order to get the money he needed.

Following Kronk's testimony, his co-worker, David Dean, was called. Dean was with Kronk on Aug. 11 when they found the dead rattlesnake and Kronk reported seeing something that looked like a skull.

Dean said he mentioned to Kronk that Caylee's body might be in a swamp. He said Caylee's disappearance was a common conversation topic at their office.

Dean said Kronk went around 25 feet into the wooded area that afternoon.

Dean said Kronk never told him about his multiple calls to law enforcement about finding an object resembling a skull on Aug. 11. He said he did not think Kronk was serious about the skull.

The defense then called Alex Roberts, Kronk's supervisor with Orange County in 2008.

Roberts testified that he was Kronk's supervisor and aware of his actions on Dec. 11, 2008. He was dismissed after a sidebar.

Kronk Testimony Didn't Jive With Opening Statements, Analyst Says
POSTED: 5:46 pm EDT June 28, 2011

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Judge Perry said he likely wouldn’t allow testimony from Casey Anthony’s ex-fiancée, Jesse Grund, along with two employees at the Orange County Jail.

Outside of the presence of the jury, the defense questioned Grund and the jail employees.

Grund spoke about a time Anthony told him she didn’t want Caylee around her brother Lee, who she told Grund had groped her at one point.

“Jesse Grund is the only one that’s accused anyone of molesting Casey Anthony,” .

The testimony would have maintained the defense’s theory of family issues while keeping Anthony off of the stand. The prosecution objects, saying the testimony is hearsay.

Perry indicated he likely would not allow Grund's testimony.
