Anthony Lawyer Talks Casey Case On CNN

ORLANDO, Fla. -- George and Cindy Anthony do not believe their daughter Casey is innocent, their lawyer told CNN on Wednesday night.

The Anthonys' lawyer, Mark Lippman, told CNN that his clients do not want their daughter to receive the death penalty for the killing.


George Anthony is denying allegations that he had an affair with Krystal Holloway.

Lippman released a statement ahead of potential testimony from Holloway, who claims George Anthony confided in her about Casey Anthony's case.

Casey Anthony's murder trial continues on Thursday after the attorney representing her parents told a CNN reporter that they do not think she is innocent.

Attorney's to be in court each day by 8:30AM, trial to start @9AM.
There is some speculation that Cindy Anthony may be called to the stand on Thursday. It seems Baez has called all the experts he can, so at some point, he'll have to move on to convincing the jury of the sex abuse and drowning claims

Orlando attorney Mark Lippman issued the following statement regarding the Anderson Cooper Show on June 22, 2011.

This is to clarify the reporting done by Mr. Tuckman. First Mr. Tuckman was not given an exclusive interview. Mr. Tuckman approached Mark Lippman as he was leaving the Courthouse today and Mr. Lippman spoke with Mr. Tuckman for approximately four minutes. During this conversation Mr. Lippman was attempting to clarify that Mr. Tuckman had allowed other reports that he provided to various news agencies to become embellished . After this was identified to Mr. Tuckman, Mr. Lippman allowed Mr. Tuckman to make speculations regarding the Anthony family and a further conversation ensued. All of the statements given to Mr. Tuckman were not reported on the Anderson Cooper Show. While Mr. Lippman understands that Mr. Tuckman is a reporter, Mr. Lippman holds Mr. Tuckman to the standard that any and all statements should not be taken either out of context or misrepresent the idea that a breach of attorney client privilege was given specifically to him at any time or in any context. This statement will clear any misunderstanding that either Mr. Tuckman had or Mr. Lippman had with regard to the conversation.

Testimony enters Day 27 in Anthony murder trial

ORLANDO -- The murder trial of a Florida woman Casey Anthony accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter Caylee Marie Anthony resumes a day after the defense continued to try to poke holes in some key prosecution forensics evidence.

The defense case enters its seventh day on Thursday. It will be a full day in court. Court will start at 9 a.m. but attorneys will need to be in place by 8:30 a.m.

BBM: So, can we take from this that either Lippman was covering his bases on not breaching atty/clint priv, in advance....or CA threw a fit saying he had, and so he put this out there to clarify?
 
Defense Continues Its Case In Casey Anthony Murder Trial

Baez first called Susan Mears back to the stand. Mears, the Orange County Sheriff's Office crime scene supervisor, testified on Wednesday and stated that a World of Disney bag and a Gatorade bottle were located about 7 inches from Caylee's skull.

Baez on Thursday introduced a syringe that was found with the bag and bottle into evidence before excusing Mears, who was not cross-examined by the state either day.

The defense then called Dr. Stephen Shaw, a hair and fiber expert for the FBI, as its next witness.

Shaw was asked by prosecutor Jeff Ashton to explain post-mortem hair banding to the jury.

Dr. Barry Logan was only accepted as an expert in forensic toxicology, and not in some of the other fields defense attorney Sims had requested, which could limit the questions she had intended to ask him.

Ashton repeatedly objected to Sims’ questions, citing relevance and expertise, and his objections were sustained, blocking many questions from being answered for the jury.

Multiple sidebars, objections delay forensic toxicologist testimony

Casey Anthony's defense team this morning focused on hair evidence in the murder case. Dr. Barry Logan, forensic toxicologist, reviewed bench notes from Dr. Arpad Vass and Dr. Marcus Wise of the Oak Ridge National Lab.
CSI testimony

The first witness today was Susan Mears, a crime-scene investigator with the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Defense Attorney Jose Baez asked Mears to provide certain evidence, including a Gatorade container, syringe and Disney bag — items found where Caylee Marie's remains were recovered.

Mears brought those items and, after being questioned by Baez: "I have what I believe may be the syringe with me.''

The items were introduced into evidence and Mears was excused.

George Anthony does not have a mistress, attorney says

ORLANDO -- The presence of George Anthony's alleged mistress in the halls outside courtroom 23A at the Orange County Courthouse is fueling speculation that she will testify.

Holloway apparently volunteered with the Anthonys at Kid Finder in 2008.

Separately, an attorney for Casey's parents on Thursday sought to clarify statements to a CNN reporter in which he implied George and Cindy Anthony no longer think their daughter is Innocent.

"clear any misunderstanding" that came from his conversation with CNN reporter Gary Tuchman, but the statement didn't deny the claim in Tuchman's report Wednesday evening.

Lippman's statement said Cindy and George "simply want justice in this case."

Lippman also said George and Cindy still love Casey, and they will do "all they can" to stop her from being sentenced to death.

In July 2008, days after Cindy called 911 to report Caylee missing, Cindy told WFTV Casey did something.

"For whatever she's done, everybody, she has done something OK? She's holding back or whatever it is, otherwise Caylee would be right here with us. So she has done something. So, I forgive her for whatever that is," Cindy told reporter Kathi Belich in 2008.

Cindy Anthony testified on Thursday that the stain found in Casey Anthony's car was there when it was purchased.
Cindy also testified about computer searches on a laptop at the family's home. Cindy said she had used a computer at the family's Orlando home on Suburban Drive to do searches about chloroform.

Cindy Anthony: 'I Did Chloroform Searches'
Casey's Mother Says Searches Related To Her Dogs

Cindy told lead defense attorney Jose Baez that she started looking up chlorophyll on the Internet because she was concerned about the Anthony family's youngest Yorkshire Terrier.


Baez asked if Anthony had gotten chlorophyll confused with chloroform, and she said the two are associated.


While Anthony's work time card indicated she was working in March 2008 on the day the searches were made, Anthony said that is incorrect and she was not working.


Linda Drane Burdick asked if she typed in "how to make chloroform."

Anthony, appearing just slightly flustered, said she wasn't sure exactly but she knew she had done the searches in regard to the family dogs.

"Did you do 84 searches on the effect of chloroform on your animals?" Drane Burdick asked Anthony.

"I didn't do 84 searches of anything," Anthony said.
