Gilmore said Friday morning. “We know that at 1:35 a.m. on that date, she walked out of a Choctaw casino in Grant, Oklahoma, with a white male companion by the name of Jeremy Upchurch, who lives in extreme northern Lamar County.”...
"He has been a person of interest since the very beginning and he still remains a person of interest,” he said. “Anybody that knows him can give us information that leads to him being responsible, which we believe he is. It’s just one of those cases that is now five years old, but we've not put in on the shelf. We continue to work it and we will until we find her and the people responsible for what's happened to her.”
Gilmore said that who are some other people of interest that investigators would like to talk to but there are problems making those connections.
“Most of the people we have talked with have criminal records and are known criminals.” he said. “That's proven to be an obstacle.”
The investigator stopped short of saying Darling was dead.
“It's safe to say, after five years, there has definitely been some foul play,” he said. “We are just waiting for the missing piece. Certainly, we want to locate her. That's the main thing.”
