Dad Chauncey Malone can speak, but police will not elaborate on what he told them. Mom Wendy Still is in a coma. Grandmom had a seizure after a security guard helped her knock in the bathroom door and grandmom's own young child witnessed all this.

How is it a sweet baby is dead? How is the mom in a coma? What was up with the toaster? A backup plan?

Atlanta police believe they tried to commit suicide after Jayden's death.

Garneaux described her daughter as a nurturing, loving mother. She's convinced the baby died of natural causes.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's office said Friday's autopsy did not reveal a cause of death and additional tests would be needed.

A family friend says the bathroom door was barricaded and the infant's body wrapped in a towel on the bathroom counter.

Garneaux said her daughter is still in ICU.

Wrapped in a towel? Not a blanket?
That would make one think that he died in the bathroom/bathtub.
But if the autopsy really didn't show a cause of death then it must not have been drowning.
Very odd.
 
There isn't much information and with what little we have, it just doesn't make sense. What a strange case. It does sound possible though that the child died accidentally and the parents tried to commit suicide. Very sad. He was a beautiful little boy, that's for sure.

So strange. Sadder than strange though.

Not really a big deal, but my DD was just asking me to come watch the "Janis Joplin" story with her, and I looked at the picture of this little family and there's Janis in the background on a poster.

RIP little guy. Such a cutie. His mom is beautiful as well. Pretty smile. She looks so happy in that photograph.
