GUILTY Canada - Man for sex abuse, child *advertiser censored* of young daughter, Edmonton, 2011

Why does Canada not release the names of all charged and arrested sex offenders? This is true in several countries. In the US, an article such as this would name the man and state that he was accused of producing child *advertiser censored* involving a 7 year old. The child would not be named. He/she could be a relative, friend's child or neighbor. By not stating the victim's relationship to the man, the child's identity is protected. Surely there can be conjecture but I find that preferable to the community at large not knowing this man's name. If he's allowed out on bail, no one will know his pending charges. That bothers me.

Police charged the man after receiving a tip last Friday from a European law enforcement agency about pornographic material involving a child, that appeared to originate from an Edmonton address. The Internet Child Exploitation unit of the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) went to the address and located a mother and her three children...."

May 2013:

An Edmonton man who pleaded guilty to four sexual interference and child *advertiser censored* charges connected to his own daughter appeared in court Wednesday.

In January, the man – who cannot be identified in order to protect the victim – pleaded guilty to sexual interference, and the distribution, possession, and making of child *advertiser censored*...

The Crown noted that, after his arrest, the father told interviewers he was abused as a child and nobody cared, so he didn’t know why anyone should care about his daughter...

The young victim was rescued in Edmonton May 25, 2012.

Hang on, this must be a different one if the child was rescued in 2012. In this one, the father and the uncle were both abusing the child

July 2013:

A 34-year-old Edmonton father has been sentenced in a child *advertiser censored* case involving his daughter. She is six now but was an infant at the time...

According to details of the case laid out in the agreed statement of facts, the abuse started when the victim was between three and six months old. A police investigation found 13 inappropriate videos and 109 photos of the child.

The Crown argued for a sentence of 11 to 12 years, while the Defence pushed for a seven to nine year sentence.

In the end, the father was sentenced to 10 years in prison. However, a two for one credit has been given for time served, leaving 7 years and ten months remaining.

Sickening - and far, far, far too lenient

October 2015:

A 43-year-old Edmonton father admitted in court Friday that he sexually assaulted his young daughter for six years.

The man, who cannot be identified to protect his daughter’s identity, began abusing the girl when she was eight, Crown prosecutor Craig Krieger told court. The abuse didn’t stop until the girl was 14 and reported her father in late 2012.

Oh no, this is a different one again!

An Edmonton father facing a six-year prison term after earlier pleading guilty to repeatedly sexually assaulting his young daughter is now trying to get out of it.

The 43-year-old man - who cannot be identified to protect the identity of his daughter - was supposed to have been sentenced on Thursday, but instead he had a bail hearing in an attempt to get out of custody while awaiting a hearing on his application to strike his guilty plea.

6 measly years and he's not happy about it?!?!?!?!

I think that 12 years would of been too lenient, it ridicules..

August 2012:

An Edmonton father who created and distributed child *advertiser censored* involving his infant daughter has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.

The 39-year-old, who cannot be identified to protect his daughter’s identity, began to sexually assault his daughter in 2008, when she was three years old and still in diapers. He photographed and videotaped the sexual encounters over a period of three years until he had a library of more than 200 images, many of which he shared on the Internet with other viewers of child *advertiser censored*.

His crimes only stopped when he was arrested in September 2011.

He also secretly filmed the older daughters in the bathroom with a hidden camera, and put the images on the internet. His wife didn't know about any of it.

Lock him up and throw away the key!

Why do they let these guys off with a slap in the wrist?
