SHREVEPORT, LA (KSLA) -

The man arrested in the death two-year-old Ja'Marsay Summerfield back in October is out of jail and no longer facing charges in the toddler's death.

The number of unsolved killings may even be greater considering cases such as that of Ja'Marsay Summerfield, 2, whose body was found in a storage closet in 2011. The toddler's passing was ruled a "death," not a "homicide," according to Malone, and thus isn't counted among the homicide statistics. Tristan Anderson, a boyfriend of Summerfield's mother, was arrested in connection with the death but charges against him were dropped.

His mother told police that she had not seen him since leaving him in the custody of her boyfriend, Tristan Anderson.
Tamera Summerfield says she was told that her son was with Anderson's mother, Dianna. She tells us Dianna Anderson told her she was taking the little boy to the zoo in Tyler, Texas, and then told her she needed to go to San Antonio to be with an ailing aunt. Tamera gave her permission to take Ja'Marsay with her.
Summerfield says every time she called to check on her son, she was told he was asleep, out to eat with someone, or simply not available. Red flags went up when Tristan's mom admitted that she didn't have Ja'Marsay...
