Bryant Johnson was born with hydrocephalus and has had his share of medical problems, including very severe headache, now he's back skating after brain surgery.

And his favorite NHL goalie Miikka Kiprusoff made a lovely gesture after reading about him:

Bryant’s life off the ice has changed dramatically, too.

“His marks have skyrocketed,” said Nicole. “He’s a different kid. He’s got a sense of humour that we haven’t seen in 13 years.”

Bryant is happy with his new lease on life.

“I feel much better,” he said.

“Now I don’t have a headache every single game I go into. I’ve played through AAA and AA without any headaches.”

His dad Kelsey is proud.

“He loves to do this,” said Kelsey. “Just because you’ve had a few hurdles along the way doesn’t mean you should stop doing what you want to do, and there’s no good medical reason why he can’t, so you’ve just got to let him go out there and do his thing.”
