i wasn't sure whether to post this here, entertainment news, or unidentified people!

Sesame Street producers are trying to figure out the name of the actor who played Gordon in the original 1969 pilot.

Don't know the original, but the guy who LATER played Gordon famously played a pimp named Tyrone on All My Children at the same time as his Sesame Street gig. I met him at a SS event at a local mall, but had him sign his picture as Tyrone - he was really great about it - and we had a good laugh.

Are they serious? They have no record of the original Gordon...wow! Glad Bert and Ernie are no longer cross-eyed. It is too hard to continue to look at them that way. LOL

The Sesame Street producers need to check IMDb which lists Matt Robinson as the original Gordon (1969-1972). From 1972-1975 he was the voice of Roosevelt Franklin

According to the articles, they're looking for the actor BEFORE Matt Robinson. He was in only one episode, the test pilot for the show, which was never aired, according to this article:

Thanks Charli-Ann. So I guess the video of "Gordon" is not to help identify the first actor since it shows only the known Matt Robinson. Odd. They need to post a clip from the pilot that shows the mystery Gordon.
