In the space of about a month, three young Oklahoma City-area women have died violently, but at whose hands? With typical lack of information from area LE agencies, the City finds itself musing about a possible serial killer in their midst, troubled by three deaths:

Carina Saunders....19
Kelsey Bransby.....19
Alina Fitzpatrick....17

There's currently a WS thread for Ms. Saunders:

The Mystery of who killed Carina Saunders remains

Despite difficulties, Bethany police work to solve woman's killing (newsok.com)

Ms. Bransby:

Oklahoma City woman died from gunshot wound to the face (newsok.com)

Ms. Fitzpatrick:

Alina Fitzpatrick case: Who killed Alina? (hinkymeter.com)

News is so scarce on the case immediately above that no MSM is available on the cause of death or if the case has been ruled murder; Carina's death received ample coverage at first, Kelsey's, not nearly as much. There are articles out there, however, about all three.

Could a serial killer be operating in Oklahoma City? Until police release more details about their investigations of the cases above, that's something we can only pray is not the circumstance - because we have so little evidence either way.

Alina - http://www.news9.com/story/16047043/body-found-is-that-of-missing-okc-teenager

I don't think there's a serial killer, I think they are all drug related. The only thing they have in common is that the two girls went to the same high school (probably knew each other), and may have hung with the same set of friends.

One girl was left in plain sight, another in a duffle bag, hidden away...doesn't sound like a serial killer's MO.

Sometimes when parents home school their kids, it's to take control of a situation - maybe she started hanging out with a bad crowd who they felt was influencing her.

I'm surprised there's not more news about these cases.

OKC Criminologist: Recent Teens' Deaths Have Something In Common (news9.com)
---
Many News 9 viewers have emailed us asking if the cases are related. Police said no, but criminologist Howard Kurtz said there may be a link.

"Oklahoma as far as teen homicides in the country, we are kind of in the top ten for that. When they examine teenage homicides, what they discover is a lot of them are gang-related, and we are seeing a growth of gangs in Oklahoma. A lot of them are alcohol and drug related," Kurtz said.

The girls' deaths are bizarre. Dismembered, shot in the face, and nude in a field. According to Kurtz, they are possibly drug-related and someone was trying to send a message.

Mexican drug cartels often kill their victims in gruesome ways and frequently dismember them. I wonder how deeply these gangs have infiltrated the homeland, and if that's what we're dealing with here.

<H1>Female body found in family's yard
Lorenzo Edwards said he and his grandmother discovered the body on the 4500 block of Overbrook Road Wednesday afternoon.
"From what I could tell, she was a red head, young, caucasian and was naked. She was lying on her side in a fetal position. I was told it looked as if her face was smashed in and maybe someone tried to strangle her," he said.

A woman and her grandson, (who is quoted above), went to check on her property. They found the dead girl in the front yard.( Lorenzo sure seems to have a wealth of info and is eager to share it. Hinky anyone? MOO)

This looks like a rural area. There used to be a house there but it burned down several months ago.

LE is checking missing persons reports and have not yet identified the girl.

Medical examiner's report released in death of 17-year-old Oklahoma City girl
The cause of death for a 17-year-old Oklahoma City girl whose body was found in the northeast part of the city in November is unknown, but methamphetamine was found in her system and a gag had been placed in her mouth, according to the medical examiner's report.

The unclothed body of Alina Fitzpatrick was found near NE 43 and Anderson Road on Nov. 9.
---
Pathologist Chai S. Choi lists the probable cause of death as &#8220;unknown,&#8221; but suggests her death was caused by possible acute methamphetamine toxicity. The medical examiner was unable to determine if the death was accidental or a homicide.
---
Fitzpatrick's body had widespread bruising and abrasions thought to have occurred about the time she died, according to the autopsy report.

"Unable to determine" if death was homicide or accidental? Not a surprise in Oklahoma.

Poor Alina. It's destined to go unsolved, filed away as just another OD. But maybe that's what it was.

Police look for clues in Oklahoma City teen's death (Sunday Oklahoman)
Alina Fitzpatrick may have died of a drug overdose, but that doesn't explain how the 17-year-old's body was found bruised, naked and gagged in northeast Oklahoma City.

Oklahoma City police said they are investigating her death as suspicious.

&#8220;&#8216;Homicide' is just a legal term,&#8221; police Capt. Dexter Nelson said. &#8220;That gives us legal grounds to prosecute someone. We are still investigating it as a suspicious death. You investigate them the same way.&#8221;
---
&#8220;She was with people who were involved in illegal behavior at the time, no doubt,&#8221; Nelson said. &#8220;Detectives are at a point now where they could use some help. They have talked to a lot of people, but they don't have all the answers yet.&#8221;
