Gavin Gosnell, 28, was sentenced to a minimum of 18 years non-parole when he appeared in the High Court at Christchurch this morning...
He was found guilty in April of murdering 15-year-old Hayden, whose body parts were found in unmarked graves at two Christchurch cemeteries four months after he went missing.
The jury heard Hayden was at Gosnell's Linwood flat in August 2011, when Gosnell bashed him unconscious. He then cleaned Hayden up and left him on a couch, where Gosnell's then-partner found him dead the next morning. Gosnell used a knife and saw to cut Hayden's body into 12 parts, before being dumped into the graves, where they lay undiscovered until December 2011.
