An 11-year-old boy took his mother to court in China for breaking a promise to buy him a computer if he did well at school.
The mother promised her son a computer if he scored average marks of more than 94% for his school work, not expecting him to succeed.
She welched on the deal when he chalked up an average of 97%, telling him she could not afford to buy the computer.
The schoolboy, from Xingzheng, Henan province, went to court asking a judge to make his mother honour the verbal agreement.
He eventually agreed to back down on his claim when the judge coaxed him into reconciling with his mother, the Dahe Daily reported.
