Officers are searching the home and grounds of a missing Henderson County woman. 38-year-old Shelby Wilkie was last seen at the home on Moody Street Monday morning when her husband, Michael Wilkie, says she left on her way to work. Wilkie's black Ford Escape was discovered Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of the J & S restaurant on Airport Road. A J & S manager tells News 13 the vehicle was not there when he arrived for work Wednesday morning.

You know, yesterday I was going to comment on how the husband was the one to say she suffered from PPD and happened to be last one to see her...but I decided against that.

Now I find this article: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4588380...g-mothers-suv-found-parking-lot/#.TwXwnIFPbRw

The Henderson County Clerk of Court told News 4 that Shelby Wilkie filed a domestic violence complaint in 2010 that she voluntarily dismissed.

They said she filed another domestic violence complaint in 2011 that she voluntarily dismissed.

Both were against Michael Wilkie.

Following this closely as her vehicle was found about 3 miles from me so I'm semi-local.

Posting a news story from when she first went missing. Her SUV was found in a Cafeteria parking lot across the road from the Asheville airport. In the same complex her SUV was found is also the Dollar Rental and another car rental place. Her SUV was found Wednesday night around 8pm and was being processed.

Move to today, early this afternoon sheriffs Dept conducted a search on the family home in Hendersonville, still ongoing.

Now the video I'm linking to is with the husband, tell me what you think about his demeanor please. Also it's been remarked locally he has a scratch or scratches on his face. Opinions welcome.

<rumor alert>
Locally I'm hearing she worked in administration and it was closed at the radio station Monday, not verified, consider rumor at this point. It may be a big hole in the husbands story. <rumor>

Peliman...

Is the cafeteria between her home and work?

Also, husband says Monday last seen leaving for work, and work says she had Monday off, it was Tuesday that she didn't show up. So, that's a lot of time for *something* to happen.

I read that in one of the many articles I was reading...and FWIW, I also work in administration at a Radio Station, and we were closed for the legal holiday of New Years Day.

I watched the WLOS interview with the husband. I would bet a year's salary this man is lying about the whole situation. He is as easy to read as a three year old with chocolate all over his face and hands who says he doesn't know why the bag of Oreo cookies is empty.

On the other hand, the baby is absolutely adorable! Poor little girl, I hate to think she will have to grow up without her mommy. Mom's family needs to file for custody ASAP...get a PI and dig, dig, dig for dirt to use against MW! MOO :twocents:

Is the cafeteria between her home and work?

Yes, Approximate figures here. About 12 miles to the cafeteria where her SUV was found. Work about 25 miles from her home. The cafeteria is about halfway between her home and work.

Also, husband says Monday last seen leaving for work, and work says she had Monday off, it was Tuesday that she didn't show up. So, that's a lot of time for *something* to happen.

Rumor is she had the day off, not a she says. I don't know exactly when she was reported missing. She was reported last seen on Monday morning when she left for work "Her hubby says" not verified yet but Monday may have been a holiday for her.

I read that in one of the many articles I was reading...and FWIW, I also work in administration at a Radio Station, and we were closed for the legal holiday of New Years Day.

Thanks I'm hearing radio admin had monday off <unconfirmed>

I looked up her address andd she looked to live about 3 miles from me in beautiful downtown Horse Shoe, which in my opinion means her car was found less than 10 miles away from her home. Does she not live off 64 between Horse Shoe and Laurel Park?

My apologies, I too "work" in Asheville and it is a 25 mile commute each way. I am new and don't get how to go back and correct my posts yet!

Praying for Shelby

The headline at WLOS has changed to read: "Husband Confesses to Wife's Murder". The is no story up yet, just the headline.

I am pleasantly surprised to see that he has confessed. It seems that most of them hire a lawyer and stick with their chosen story, even when they know that everybody knows that they are lying!

Maybe this one is not a sociopath. That would help to explain why he was so bad at lying convincingly in the interview. This one might have a concience. MOO

I'm glad he confessed also but I'm not sure about a conscience. Another story posted recently and apparently an assault charge had just been resolved on Dec. 28...

Less than five months later, on March 29, 2011, Michael Wilkie was charged with assault on a female in an incident involving his wife and with interfering with emergency communications. The case was resolved Dec. 28 after he attended the Mainstay program.

Three page story..
