Keep looking
The family of Peter Greene would like to thank The Wenatchee World for the news articles recently regarding the disappearance of our father. Pete went missing from Apple Springs in Omak on Monday, Jan. 2. Although as of this writing he still has not been found, we wanted to acknowledge your quick response in getting the word out.
The outpouring of support from the community has been tremendous. We give our heartfelt appreciation to all the people who looked for our dad the first three days he was missing. It is humbling to think all of you would spend time away from your families to try and find a member of ours. We cannot thank you enough.
The case is now in the hands of the Omak Police Department and Detective Jeff Koplin. Given that Pete could not be found locally, we are inclined to think he is out of the area. He has no money and, given that he has Alzheimers disease, he is dependent upon others for his well-being. We ask that everyone continue to keep their eyes open and please call 911 or the Omak Police Department at (509) 826-0383 if you have any news that may help determine his whereabouts.
The family has created a Facebook page called Friends of Peter B. Greene, Missing person with Alzheimers. Anyone who would like to keep abreast of the ongoing search for Pete can go to facebook.com/FriendsOfPete. We have no physical evidence or leads at this time. We continue to rely on the alertness and involvement of this community and concerned citizens in areas through which Pete may be traveling. With your help, we may be able to bring this search to a happy ending.
