SEARCH CONTINUES FOR TARKINGTON MAN

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office continues to actively investigate the disappearance of Edwin “Clark” Rogers a white male (07/23/1949) from the Tarkington / Cleveland area of Liberty County. This case has reached a point where all available leads have been followed up on.

By the way, Edwin Rogers is missing from Texas not Ohio. Tarkington is close to Cleveland, Texas. Maybe that's what happened. jwpmoyer prolly was thinking Cleveland, Ohio.

HOUSTON—An investigation is underway after two men came across “human remains” along a pipeline right of way in northwest Liberty County, deputies said.
Two men, who were riding four wheelers, discovered the remains at about 7:30 p.m. Thursday and called investigators.
The pipeline right of way is located approximately 200 yards off CR 332 about a half mile East of Highway 59.

The missing include Larry Baker, who was 54 years old on Jan. 29, 2010, when he was last seen in Cleveland; Rodney Stokley, who was 19 in 2008 when he disappeared while walking along Plum Grove Road; 39-year-old Mark Rhineburger, who was reported missing on Feb. 15, 2012; 54-year-old Dennis Rogers, who was reported missing on March 8, 2012; and 62-year-old Edwin Clark Rodgers, who has been missing since Jan. 6, 2012. All of the cases remain unsolved.

The possibility also remains that the bones do not belong to any of the missing men.

Details of Disappearance
Rogers was last seen in Liberty, Texas on December 30, 2011. He spoke to his brother and his son on the phone at 11:40 p.m., asking if they'd like to go with him to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) hall. They said no. Rogers was last seen leaving the VFW hall. He has never been heard from again.

The next day, Rogers's stepson and his wife saw Rogers's green 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee on the side of Texas 231 near County Road 2243, between Cleveland and Tarkington Prairie. They didn't think of it at the time, but as days passed and the Jeep remained in the same location, his stepson became concerned and spoke to his mother about it.

Rogers's wife went to the Jeep and put a rock under the tire to see if it was moved. She found his cellular phone and medication inside it. His stepdaughter reported him missing on January 6.

At the time of his disappearance, Rogers was separated from his wife and they were arguing. Because of issues with his feet stemming from his military service in the Vietnam War, his family doesn't think he could have left on foot. The Jeep was his only method of transportation. It's completely uncharacteristic of him to leave without warning and his case remains unsolved.
